P.S. - how is calling someone a monkey racist? Who decides that it is? I can remember being called that during sport as a kid, and calling other kids rangas on the footy field. I never remember it being a reference to race. And you can't tell me Symonds isn't baiting some kind of comment with the way he dresses up his lips...

..... At the close of the fourth day, Australia were 213 runs ahead at 4 for 282 with Mike Hussey poised for his eighth Test century on 87 and first innings centurion Andrew Symonds not out 14.
Ailing Hayden, 36, completed his 29th Test century and fifth against India, including the last two in successive Tests.
He was out on the reverse sweep to Wasim Jaffer at point off Kumble, who whipped out Michael Clarke next ball off an outside edge to Rahul Dravid at slip.
Symonds saw off the hat-trick but only after a huge shout for leg before wicket.
Hayden restored the innings after the jolting loss of skipper Ponting for one with a 160-run partnership with Hussey. etc

The Indians call Symonds a cheat for not walking when he should have been out, but I didn't see them calling Gilly back for what was very obviously a wrong decision...Gilchrist ripped off severely there.

MUMBAI (AFP) - India one-day captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni went for a huge 1.5 million dollars on Wednesday as some of the world's best players were auctioned off for the Twenty20 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Chennai paid nearly four times the wicketkeeper-batsman's base price of 400,000 dollars in the opening round of the novel sell-off, held before the lucrative tournament's debut in April.
Eight franchise owners, including corporate tycoons and Bollywood actors, bid for 77 cricketers in a pioneering process that some observers believe will change the face of the game.
Retired Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne was bought by Jaipur at his base price of 450,000 dollars, while compatriot Adam Gilchrist went to Hyderabad for 700,000 dollars.
Record-breaking Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was bought by Chennai for 600,000 dollars, while his national captain Mahela Jayawardene went to Mohali for 475,000 dollars.
Kolkata bought controversial Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar for 425,000 dollars as bidding, orchestrated by English auctioneer Richard Madley, continued at a five-star hotel.

1994-95 was an outstanding season for De Villiers. In five Tests, he took 36 wickets averaging 17.47. In the Test against Pakistan in Johannesburg, De Villiers became the first ever South African to score a fifty and take ten wickets in the same Test, scoring 66 not out and taking 6 for 81 and 4 for 27. He was subsequently named the South African Cricket Annual Cricketer of the Year in 1995, an award he had previously won in 1989.
