Watching now, an amazing insight into our interior wonderland.

The flooding of the normally dry rivers and the filling of Lake Eyre and the dramatic changes it brings to our interior in such a short space of time is nothing short of spectacular.

I hope some of our resident nature lovers watched it.

Amazing is an understatement.

A great insight into how insignificant man actually is.

roland, I agree entirely
I spent 2 ½ years around that area and northeast of Lake Eyre in the eighties when I was a rig pilot based in Moomba.

There is some absolutely stunning scenery throughout that country that the majority of Australians don't even know exists. I consider it one of the best experiences of my life to have seen it on daily basis.
If any of you ever get the chance to visit the Coongie Lakes (North West of Innamincka) take it, you will be amazed at both the scenery and the some of the history (black and white) associated with that area.

Take in the area bounded by a line from Leigh Creek, Birdsville, Betoota, Durham Downs and around to Innamincka and the changes that occur to both the shape of the country and the birdlife when the rains came was eerie (not to mention the amount of time I spent looking for lost tourists stuck on the tracks in the mud).

Got to go back that way again soon and I have to visit the Noccundra pub again.

I visited Innamincka as well as Birdsville as a kid.
The special was fantastic. Neighours of ours went to see it.
We live in an amazing country.
