Just very curious what are your opinions good people.
Do you think that it is embarrassing for a male to be given a ladie's wallet to pay a restaurant bill? He forgot his at home. Poor wife got a terrible hiding from him about her embarrassing him and that she just should take money out and give it to him and not to pass the wallet to him. He virtually yelled at her that it is totally unaustralian. There was another couple present so they could see the "scene". Thanks. PS: his wife told me that she honestly didn't see anything wrong in doing it.

Maybe the earrings he was wearing at the time didnt match her wallet, hence the angst......

Sounds like a bit of a tosser if you ask me. Maybe he should make sure he has got his wallet next time
 

Why would he give a toss about carrying a lady's purse for a few minutes? No-one else would even notice I would have thought.

His response seems completely random.
 
babka - gotta balance it against a free meal!

And a murse is quite the accessory now anyway
 
What a strange fellow. If she plonked her purse on my lap I would be grinning from ear to ear.

Sounds like someone has self-esteem issues and lacks confidence in himself if he's soooo concerned about "image" - I wonder if he's rather lacking in the trouser dept???

One time I was traveling with my wife and I ran out of clean underwears...
 
Just another man with security issues around women. Go to just about any club on Friday / Saturday night and you'll find heaps of them.
 
I'd guess it wasn't actually to do with the wallet at all. Rather just an excuse to sound off because the underlying relationship has problems.

Sounds like old school.
Back in the old days the man provided for the the family and the woman stayed at home.
Just wonder what sort of back ground he would have been brought up in but heck if i had a partner who handed over her purse i surely wouldn't be fighting with her when we got home.
