KRudd Q & A

I'd be surprised if 18-25 year olds didn't remember this pathetic performance when it comes to polls in coming months (and the election itself).

I doubt most saw it, I doubt most pay much attention to politics, and many of those are going to be biased one way or another - swing voters are a minority.

Yes too true. As in my day, the youth in general have little interest in the gyrations of pollies between elections.

I did like the question from one girl who said, we backed you in 07, why should we back you this time around when you did not keep your promises last time, what has happened to the lap tops in schools, he did NOT like that question.

Not saying this girl did on this occasion but kids parrot their parents, teachers or adults.

The laptops were rolling out. A large stash of them ready for the 2010 school year were damaged at a high school in Tasmania. I guess everyone wants them immediately. Not sure why.

Will the lap tops go on line when they get to the schools, will the schools need more lines from Telstra???

Last I heard Rudd backflipped on the "laptop for every year 9 and up student" to "they will all have ACCESS to a computer at school", in which case nothing changes.

My fathers school has purchased Macbook's for all their year 11 & 12 students(IIRC maybe other year levels also). This was funded by the private schools funds and not by a government project. As far as they are aware there is no specific government laptop program and associated funds, all they were told is it was recommended and they would have to find the funds..........that's what I remember from the conversation.

cheers

I predicted that Julia would be PM within a year if krudd got elected.....I was wrong. What I really wan to know is why you all voted for him. :banghead:

"Wants them immediately"????? They were promised for two years ago, fergawdsake!

Yep, he did indeed backflip in exactly this way.

Before the election they definitely promised that a laptop would be provided for every secondary student.

I don't think too many on this forum voted for him, I certainly didn't.

I was with a group of people today who were discussing Q & A, all unimpressed except one woman who said "Isn't Kevin Rudd just the most marvellous speaker. He's just so sincere". We all just about fell off our chairs and assumed she was being sarcastic. But hell no, she meant every word. Unbelievable.

Don't be so harsh, we're all sheep to an extent :D.

Has it ever come to your attention that people repeat what they hear a lot? This phenomena has intrigued me for the past 15 years since I first noticed it and have sometimes jolted the bad cases by helping them realise they are doing it. By asking them 'who told you that' or 'why did you say that' brings them to realisation they were parroting unconsciously. Those thoughts were not their own ......

How do I know? I know how people think. :D (generally speaking of course)

A hypothetical Q&A with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd

Kid to Rudd:

Mr. Prime Minister. Recently I spoke to my Nan. She told me that she is having trouble paying her weekly bills. What can you do to help her?

Rudd to Kid:

Within the context of your question there are four vital elements worth extrapolating on. Unfortunately, time will not permit an unabridged version.

1. Due to the aging demographic many Western democracies are battling the challenges of climate change. These challenges are not uniquely domiciled to Australia. They are globally effectual, bi-hemispheric in nature and affect the vicissitudes of all our lives to both adapt and continue to consume as global citizens.

2. Eating seems to have become an esoteric concept under the previous Government from those whom I achieved my succession. The fact that throughout the ages people have had to transact in order to achieve their daily sustenance will always remain a metaphysical dilemma facing society.
I acknowledge it is not easy to have a 'fair shake of the sauce-bottle' for the peasantry and/or their access to the low-lying fruit.

3. Our greater focus on technology in this modern age should bring about greater choice for those who can better utilize their transactability with the market. Through a mutually beneficial societal dualism that can encourage those required to survive on common staples and those providers of technologies such as websites, information super-highway etc.. While liberating people like your Nan to be involved in greater technological discourse. Similar to our Grocery watch website.

We can maintain the equilibrium and cost-deficiencies that are becoming apparent in seeking assistance from external financial Factors as guarantors both within our region and globally.

4. Climate change is the most significant issue facing all of us. Although, this doesn't mean that the GFC wasn't the most fiscally and potentially paradoxical challenging event of my administration. By understanding carbon and it's effects on the economic station of people like your Nan. We are planning to implement a program to redress these pressures should they adversely affect her ability to live on the essentials. Of course this cannot be done outside a credible and globally recognizable altruistic context. Of which Australia should be it's leader.

I hope that humbly answers your question. ;) :D

Kid to Rudd: Thanks.

Just watched it. The tone he talks in is enough to make me ill. Can't stand the man. I just wish more people my age (16-25) could see through the spin. He didn't answer one question properly.

Let's hope the Dream Team (Abbott, Joyce, Andrews) can lead us to an unexpected, glorious, victory against all odds, like Tom Cruise defeating the Japanese Emperor in The Last Samurai.

I was right, I was right, i was right. Whooooohoooooooooooooooooo. Just my timing was wrong....a bit like shares.:)
OK then, now how do we get rid of Julia? ......There was on old woman who swallowed a spider...............

OK then, now how do we get rid of Julia?

Have Julie do to the Mad Monk what Julia did to her Pious Pontificator.

Julie and Julia to battle it out. "Yeahhh - I'd like to see that!" :D

Unfortunately Julie is no Julia. Bishop is a lightweight IMO and certainly not PM material.

Julie Bishop is a mere token window dressing for the Libs. A mere Yin to Labors Yang. Julia Gillard will lead this country for a very long time due to global circumstances that will ensure the deck is stacked in her favour. Long Live Queen Julia !

New slogan can be 'Julia will Rool ya'

Tch, tch. Sidetracked again...

Another faulty points switch along the political freightline... ;)

Should this not be addressed in the "Julia Gillard for PM" thread??

This thread, like the aspirations of KRudd, is a Dead Parrot.

;)
