The much maligned brave monarch, Richard 111, will finally be interred in Leicester Cathedral.

It is alleged he killed many maliciously.

I do not believe it.

He is innocent.

He was never proven guilty in a court of law.

There were only two laws in that time. The law of the bottom on the throne and the law of the sword. Somtimes they worked together, sometimes not. It was a lot like the Labor Party today.

Henry VIII didn't worry too much about being a misogynist or a heretic to the catholic church.

Looking at the shape of his spine and considering he was only 5'8" max, standing straight. He really would have struggled in close combat.
Fortunately they have found that most of the wounds, were inflicted post beheading.
Also I found it interesting, that they commented that 5'8" was quite tall for the times.
Many of this generation are that laying down.

Fascinating stuff, i really enjoyed reading the ABC story....the archeologists must really enjoy that.

GG, you do mean Richard III, not Richard 111? A few millennia will have to pass before the latter becomes a topic of conversation.

"A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!"

I always knew Shakespeare just made history up. Died in battle my ****. He died in a car park. Probably a drug deal that went wrong.

Well I think the Bard was more contemporary, and probably got it right about the Duke of Gloucester and Lord Protector.

I went and saw the Sydney Geneisan Theatre's production of Richard III a couple of weeks ago. For an amature theatre group the production was quite good - and the ticket price is a give away! Very small theatre (converted church) puts you right up near the stage.
