Is that film the one where the software geek works under a false name, induces the bank to use his whizz bang trading programme and thereby bankrupts the bank?
If so then, I have reason to believe that it may have been partially inspired by actual events. I am aware of one employee who worked in two banks in Australia during the latter part of the 80's whose behaviours seemed to correlate with those of one of the central characters. Of course, like all great films it has the usual disclaimer in the credits, so I've no way of being certain.
Just watched margin call, good movie, I liked it a lot more than Wall Street, thanks for the reccomendation. Personally I like the Shawshank redemption, its a very popular choice according to imdb though.
This Mr. Sheen:
Charlie Sheen's mobile phone "went into meltdown" and broke after he accidentally tweeted his number when trying to send a private message to Justin Bieber.
The troubled actor accidentally told his five million Twitter followers the number while having dinner in Las Vegas on Wednesday, the New York Post reports.
In very much the same vein as Wall Street, though a documentary so (in my opinion) much more fascinating, is "Trader" about Paul Tudor Jones. It is supposed to be almost impossible to find (but if you just do a google search for "Paul Tudor Jones Trader" it usually comes up straight off and is free to watch) because Jones had a change of heart in the early '90s and bought up every single copy of the doco. The best documentary I have ever seen...

Yes, lots of value in this.

Recently watched "Moneyball" (having read the book also). Much of relevance for traders (and an enjoyable film & read too).
