Out of the blue this afternoon I got a phone call from the crowd we have everything insured with.
So, after 8 weeks from lodgment date finally have been told that 2 of the claims are settled and the money is on its way.
Was asked if I would take a cash offer, response will you take a cash offer on the premiums.
That part of the conversation ended abruptly.
Got 1 claim to go, the big one for house and shed.

Well today was one of those days that one will not forget in a hurry.
Had a grader clearing a 1k fence line this morning, 6am start great job.
Finished off a difficult fence job.
At lunchtime received a phone call from our insurers.
Got the thumbs up that they are going to pay us out for the house and shed damage caused by the tornado back in January.
All that is required now is some rain to fill the tanks and dams.
Anyone got a hotline with the Bloke in the Heavens?

Happily She has informed me tonight that our insurance money has hit the bank account. Not bad 3 months and 1 day since the tornado hit.

I currently have a fencing quote out for a client.
That was submitted 3 months ago.
Came back, we want the workings or how you arrived at this figure.
Supplied.
Now this company wants the client and me to give our permission to them to give my quote to a repaired of their choice to come up with a "realistic" quote.
This quote involves the owner's property and 3 neighbours so it is not exactly peanuts involved.
Nay, Nay from both of us.
Get them to do the hard yards on their own.
I'm guessing this will drag on for some time yet, as the insurer is a car insurer, who advertises pretty heavily on TV and reckons they are a good deal when it comes to general insurance.
I keep on telling people say with the 2 that are rural based.

Just heard from the client about post no 10.
Has finally had my quotes accepted, only after sitting on the phone for more than hour and trying to explain why their pittance of a cash settlement was not acceptable.
7 times less than the quote.
Anyway, the cash is now in his bank account, and a new insurer is being looked at.
Sh****ns would be the worst that I have ever dealt with in over 40 years.
