A little unexpected for me, but a friend pinged my on skype to ask what I thought the impact of the TPP would be on the markets.

For those who don't know what the TPP is:

Some like it, some don't.

I hadn't actually considered how it would impact the financial world too much although I have been following the story since lefties started their campaign against it.

So what do people here think? Specifically, about the potential impacts of the TPP on markets?

Hi,

Here is an interesting article

From what I gather it resembles a treaty.
hence,

adopting international treaties will impose restrictions on our, in a practical sense, their legislative freedoms.

Have you herd of the attempt by big tobacco to sue the Australian Government regarding to the plain packaging laws.

Imagine a treaty which allows for more freedoms to large corporations over their products, sounds ok but think of the implications that could arise as a direct result of this, I believe it would allow for conditions which allow for more cases where a countries sovereignty and laws could be challenged under such treaties.

The last i heard on the TPP was that when Bernie Sanders agreed to back Hilliar Clinton it was only if she withdrew her support for the TPP.

Trump has been loudly against the TOPP too so whoever wins in November the TPP looks like it's in trouble.

In Australia most of the opposition wasn't the agreement itself, it was the ISDS provisions within it which facilitate TNCs to take democratically elected governments to tribunal and potentially subjects governments to financial penalty for policy making.
ISDSs have a pretty poor reputation in international trade unless you're one of the big 12.

Trump is against the TPP as much as Hillary was against the TPP - they say it's bad and they don't like it, then they get votes, then they shrugged.

Check out Clinton's Transition Team members... all pro TPP, pro fracking, pro pipeline, pro business.

If Trump isn't such a racist idiot, he would win this thing without breaking a sweat. I mean, Sanders came from nowhere, has all the established media and big donors and DNC against him... and the dude won 48% of the vote!

However this website is probably more cited in research which is rather scary.

I question is this solid fact, or marketing?
Does it ever state it will never or guarantee or better yet suggest this as legal advice.
