IEM - iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF

Anyone done any homework on this?

A friend has been looking and says that it is close to buying time.

I've been looking at the US equivalents but have never considered the Aussie side. Fear is holding me back.

i held IEM between July 2011 ( @ $43.70 ) and December 2014 ( $46.35 ) , and exited at a modest profit , it just wasn't performing enough for me

good luck

I have posted this chart a bunch of times, but will share it again...

This is NYSE listed EWA (MSCI Australia) and EEM (MSCI Emerging Markets) ...using these as the total return history goes back a decent ways.

You can pretty plainly see that there's very little difference, after adjusting for currency movement, between investing in AU and EEM, mostly because the sectoral composition of the indices has historically been quite similar.

Make of that what you will.
