Identifying capitulation in stocks

BTR substantial holder ann - Platypus sold down their 10m shares.

Up 20% today ... that's a v on the back of volume.

only problem was I missed the trade :banghead:

Yes, it looks like capitulation was yesterday. I was a little early. Extremely high volume of over 8.5 million shares traded today. Last of the sellers were shaken out yesterday at a low of $0.195. The close today was at $0.26, just off the high of $0.265.

What do you think brty/tech/a? Is this a textbook capitulation?

Is this a textbook capitulation?

For my money no. However it may indicate a reversal.

A textbook capitulation is a surrender by the holders. This appears to be a fund that has been selling down. It is common for larger holders to sometimes reverse their actions to support the price for further selling later. Whether that is the case here, only time will tell.

If Capitulation is defined as the final low for a move being in place then BTR Could be in that position.
I sent this to Pav (email) after he took his trade.

BTR
dont mind this either for a knife catch.
You know how to control the risk.
personally Id have waited for the inside day tomorrow for the setup
Less risk and that very high volume will result in an inside day.

There you go an anticipated inside day.

Personally I agree with brty and think that the upside is limited.
But as usual opinions mean very little when trading.
Best trade what the market dictates. It has no time for our opinion.

:xyxthumbs That's where experience can acdd a lot to an edge...

I was going to say the exact same thing to Pav... but decided to keep quiet. Sometimes there's nothing worse than well intended comments to distract one from his own trading.
