Well, let's take advantage of the internet revolution.... ;)

I'm looking for work in Sales..

I'm university educated and what's described as a "gun" salesperson.

If anyone knows of anything in Melbourne, please PM me.

I can send CV to those that request.

Thanks.

Thank you for the opportunity, Constable, but unfortunately I'm no good with heights!

Hey Sam,
I spent a long long time looking for work a few years back (Stupid BSc) so I know what a pain in can be.

As far as Sales go have you thought of Pharmaceutical Sales? Not to hard to get in, but like anyhting, really helps to know someone. What I didwas go to a GP and get a list of all there Sales rep cards (they had a list of 40!!!) then make a few calls. These blokes are by and large more than happy to talk about the industry, and often will try and hook you for an interview. Cause remember, they will all typically get a ~$3000 bonus if they bring someone into the company (it's much much cheaper for pharma comps to recruit this way than pay agency fees).

The Slave traders (aka Recruitment agencies) are usefull as a starting point for a few generic interviews, and the type of questions you'll get asked on the way. But ultimately they are full of idiots and a longer, harder way to get to the end line.

In the end I got to 2nd interviews with a couple of comps, but missed out- knew all the Science/Techical stuff back to front, but really all they want is a Salesman- and not really my presonality. But plenty of bucks to made in Sales, so I recommend you pursue it full steam (if not necessarily Pharma)

I know this isn't exactly what you were after but I hope this is of some help...

give u a job as a scaffold labourer
far cry from a salesman tho !

What's the pay like for those guys now? Last time I looked it was pretty good.

We deal only in domestic scaffolding ie residential, guys are looking at clearing between $700 up to a k here.
commercial /high rise scaffolding under union eba etc, clear $1000 plus rdos plus other benefits. Not much union work at the minute in melb lot of these guys have come acrooss to domestic thru lack of work.

Doc - I've got a BA in Asian Studies/Political Science (av grade Distinction)

As far as who I am as a person....

I was awarded a study scholarship with World Vision to Zimbabwe

I was elected Prefect and Boarding House Captain (yes, I'm a blue blood!) ;)

I ran an English School in Japan for 4 years and lived in the UK for 1

Work Related..

I've always exceeded sales targets.

Never sick, late or a whinger.

Excellent schmoozer :D

Office space is one of the funniest movies around - I own it on DVD!

Hi Sam

You sound like a perfect candidate for ASIO.

Cheers

You can have my job but I have a feeling it won't be around much longer. Perfect for traders in3 out of every 4 weeks. The roster is 1 week on day / one week off / one week nights / one week off and so on. The main benefit is that night shift work is generally done by 10 pm and then I can crawl up under my desk and get some sleep, set the alarm for 0515 for the 6am handover and off home ready for another day on the market. Mind you on occasion night shift can turn to sh*t and that will test you stamina.
