Victorian Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton's team was so poorly funded that top bureaucrats warned the Andrews government multiple times the state's public health unit was the worst resourced in the country.
The cause of the problem, the dumb arsed pollies don't want a drama, as it highlights the incompetence of managing/administering effective public health./hospitals.
This is not about flattening the curve, so our hospitals are no overloaded, this is about hiding the truth that are medical system was already at 98% capacity due to the lack of governance over decades.
The tide has turned, the tide is going out and showing the true state of governance.

Public service impartiality 'eroded' in Victoria by a 'culture of fear', ombudsman says
The impartiality of Victoria's public service has been "eroded" by a culture of fear and secrecy and an over-reliance on consultants by the Andrews Labor government, a damning ombudsman investigation finds.www.abc.net.au
- In short: Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass has criticised the 'creeping politicisation' of the public service under Daniel Andrews in a scathing report.
- The Department of Premier and Cabinet secretary welcomed the report's conclusion that it could not substantiate claims the public service had been improperly stacked.
- What's next? Ms Glass recommended the appointment of a public service head to independently oversee employment in the sector
Hi sojourn into totalitarianism will be what he will always be remembered, and despised for.He certainly got a lot of things happening in Victoria, whether it was successful or not time will tell, they are carrying a lot of debt.
You don't get to see the real achievements, or failures, until long after the event with the benefit of hindsight.

" It’s also important to note that the project cost for the North East Link has surpassed the estimated project cost of $16 billion (in 2019) to now almost $26 billion.
Premier Jacinta Allan attributed the cost blowout to consequences from the COVID pandemic and the Ukraine conflict.

I have no idea whether it is good or bad, or even where it goes, but I remember an East link was canned when Andrews came in and also any cost blowouts on coalition projects got several days front day coverage, both in the media and on ASF.They shouldn't build it.
I am against it. They have not got a good enough argument in my view for its existence or if they have then publish it. Not good.
I wanted Eastlink built also but how that was handled was also wrong. Signing a contract without due process the day you call an election was wrong and helped them to lose it.I have no idea whether it is good or bad, or even where it goes, but I remember an East link was canned when Andrews came in and also any cost blowouts on coalition projects got several days front day coverage, both in the media and on ASF.
I just think all sides of Government should be held up to the same scrutiny, but that doesn't seem to happen.
Both sides do crap decisions and both sides should be held accountable, simple really, then at least you can debate the pros and cons of the decision.
As it is the only decisions you can debate is one sided, which really becomes tribal and doesn't achieve anything, it doesn't enlighten anyone.
That makes perfect sense, we have a similar situation in Perth, where 90% of North/South traffic goes through the centre of the city, because both parties are having a pizzing competition about a ring road utilising the West Coat highway.I wanted Eastlink built also but how that was handled was also wrong. Signing a contract without due process the day you call an election was wrong and helped them to lose it.
They also did not produce any figures justifying it. I saw some figures after the fact that there were better priorities however I believe it has to be built one day, especially when the new Rosanna works are completed.
It appears to me from a distance that WA is better run than Victoria.
