I couldn't believe it!

I don't intend to. Do you think that's what I did? How?

Check out Jim Ball's website, it's better than Brian's site.
I will if I have time - I did notice it, but you hadn't mentioned him.

Did you hear the cleric in an interview, or was it an extract from a speech? If it was a speech it might be easier to find on the web.

Ghotib,

Call Jim Ball sometime this week and ask him to replay the cleric villifying Australians. He starts from midnight. It's a talk back program and attracts some idiots, but also some very good people balanced in their views.

Second comment is that "more rights here in Australia" doesn't actually say what rights he is claiming for some Australians that are not available to others. Maybe he means that Australian muslims born in other countries have dual citizenship and therefore have rights in other countries that Australian-born Australian citizens don't have. Big deal?

How did you insult my intelligence?

You wrote what you think he said disregarding what I actually heard. Big deal? Yes it is when we are being villified.

What an excellent response to Snake Pliskin's racist rant.

This is why people don't like speaking in harsh tones about minority groups. They get branded as racist for saying what is clearly truthful. It is fine to speak your mind so long as you aren't ignorant to the clear and present facts.
You have just proven her correct by being ignorant to the fact that no-one minds if you vilify the top dog, but, as soon as you speak harshly about a minority harshly but truthfully- look out.

And anyways- do you really think youre more Australian if you choose to come here than if you were born here? Just imagine if I told the Aboriginies that I was more Australian than them because my ancestors chose to come here and theirs were just here already. Pauline Hanson never said anything remotely that stupid (don't get me wrong; shes still an ignoramous) and look at all the crap she copped.

Muslims are fine. Our cultural diversity is great. But this kind of anti-aussie rhetoric has to be stamped out! If all who disagree turned off their victim radar for a minute they would realise this too.

Yes a one Australia would be good. An Australia that gives everyone equal rights based on being Australian not on one's philosophy - Brazil comes to mind.

Am I a racist? No! But it doesn't worry me what the shallow ones think. Most western people are offended to be called racist which is why it is used to intimidate or hurt people. To other cultures, and I use the word culture, because race is fiction, the childish labelling of people is somewhat different.

Reichstag has shown his/her immaturity on this one. I don't care GOT IT!

Sorry, that I won't do. If I have the radio on that late it's music only. But I'd listen to a recording on the website, if that's possible.

Read my message again. I didn't say what I thought he said, nor did I disregard what you said. I pointed out that the meaning of the statement you quoted is not clear and I gave one possible, and innocuous, interpretation: that people who are citizens of two nations might have rights in more countries than people who are citizens of one nation.

I think that, on its own and out of context, the statement you quoted is meaningless and not worth getting upset about.

Cheers,

Ghoti

Similar was said on 60 mins recently also. They said they moved to Australia, so they had more rights than people born here. People born here had no choice about being Australian, whereas, they chose to move here, so they have more rights.

Well that is what we told the aboriginals for nearly 200 years. It was 1967 when aboriginals became citizens of Australia.
