How much of a buy-in do you guys use per stock?

I'll add a trade that I have on at the moment with Westpac. you can see the share percent move and the profit % move. I have worked this for one contract and Etrades brokerage which is about the highest.

John

I'm just trying to sell out of this position at the moment,
My option is sitting at the top of the sell queue so we will see if it trades
I actually did this as a single leg single contract just to prove the result.
I'll post the results later

4c under the MM's and they still wont take it
John, looks like the MM's are working with an approx. 12c spread, so even at 6c under their offer it is still only the mid point and they are not likely to deal above that point - unless you are lucky enough for another retail trader to come along and take your sell order :)

Thats what I was hoping for Margaret but it looks like it wont happen today.
I,ve shaved off a couple of cents so it may go if we get a little kick at the close.
Im not really desperate to sell but seemed like a good time to try with 30% gain in 2 weeks

John

The Options got picked up on close tonight @ 1.53

So here is how the trade ended.
29% in 16 days is well within my comfort zone on a banking stock.
If I had more than one contract I would have only sold enough to take a bit of risk out of the trade.
Now to look around for something else.
I like the look of JBM and I only got on half of the july push

John

$25k per stock for me.
If you don't have much moneys and want to diversify consider a comsec share pack.
