How does Metastock work?

hi

i am interested in getting into trading, i have been looking into technical analysis (candle stick charting). please advise me how metastock works exactly?? once you buy meta stock do you need to buy charts to download onto it, does it have its own updating charts or do you need additional software??

the main reason that i am interested in metastock is for its data base searching capabilities, can some one please explain how this system works?

You only need to import stock "data" into Metastock.

If you are just starting out, use this to test it out:

Otherwise use one of these:

There's cheaper alternatives to MS out there.... Take a look at Amibroker as an example.....

i have a macbook pro, i dont think it can support amibroker, are there any alternatives for mac?
