The late morning sun and yet another hot on the Scarp has finally driven me inside to a cooler place. 38deg yesterday and fast heading in that direction now.
Perhaps an early lunch and then a nap !!!!!!!!?

Another day over 100 deg about 38 deg, time to plunge/wallow in the pool before lunch is served !!!!!!!

Half an hour wallow and splash before lunch was magnificent. Only problem was the paper wasps, which invade my space in the pool. Fly swat does come in handy though. Time now for a bit of an arvo kip.

Time to once more scramble back into the pool, and then Y-bone steak and salad from the recently departed steer now residing in the freezer.

Once again extreme temps is taking its toll on this decreped body. Had a hunger fix, lunch finished and now I think it may as well be time for an hour's kip, while the sun reaches its zenith.

All weather bans have been put in place for tomorrow, 38 deg forecast.
A quick excursion with some hay for the bovines early.
This of course means mucha tucker and vino to kill off the long day indoors.

Well its hit 41 now, so might make out I belong to the feathered variety and take a quick plunge in the pool to cool off a bit.

I worked ten hours yesterday and four this morning... sucking it up to catch up on my schedule.

Full wallet, but can't say the same about my hydration level, literally cannot drink enough water.

Same Wayne 5am start to feed out and check on cows and calves at both farms. They had the right idea by 7.30 under a shady tree near to the water source.

Well Wayne I've got a reasonable supply of liquid in the fridge to get past the next few days. Apart from an early morning check on the bovines I ain't going anywhere or doin' nuthink !!!!

Another scorcher again today Hit 41.2 this afternoon so wallowing in the pool was a necessity once the sun was off the water. that was after the arvo siesta was par-taken..

Well once again it has cracked over 42 deg. Tiresome beyond belief.
Total bans in place so nothing can be safely achieved outside.
Afternoon siesta will be the order of the day.!!!!!

Wanna know the weird thing? It is quite legal for me as a professional farrier to use a forge on these days.

Obviously common sense prevails. If I was working in the middle of a tinder dry paddock, it would be a hard no.

@Dona Ferentes

I think the main factor is that it is an animal welfare issue. There are many jobs that are just not possible without using a forge.

It's the same reason why we had essential service status during the covid tyranny.

@wayneL Similarly I can drive across any paddock on a total vehicle ban day to check on livestock, feed out and check on water.
As Wayne says common sense prevails and I try to be finished on these such days well before 8am.

So as from today 17/2/24 we start off the day with a 41 (forecast 39) with another 3 days of over 40 to come.
Yippie do-dah.

In the shade here at the moment it's a bit over 42 deg.
I'm off the wallow and splash in the pool and then going to partake of some Thai nosh.
Got a near noshery up the road so thought we celebrate the wedding anniversary with that.
Can't be bothered going anywhere in this weather.
