Same here.
I recently bought a pie at Brumbys. It was labelled "Chunky Beef Pie" and cost $4.75. It contained a mixture of black sludge and gristle. I am sure horse meat would be preferable to cow's udder and unidentifiable sludge.
You would think with a name like Brumbys they would at least offer Chunky Horsemeat Pies.
Do you hate pigs and lambs or did you get a memo from god saying that horses were a higher form of life? Or, jokes aside, what is it that makes you happy to eat one animal and not another?
I find Kangaroo meat 'gamey'.
I think you'd have to get the best cut and slow cook it with a lot of added ingredients.

Is that really necessary?Yes i have eaten a nag in Japan..
All the whining and kicking had stopped.....
Nun has noted the best cut, but the mince works well as a substitute for beef (low in fat, high in protein means it's perfect for bulking) and I find it better marinated.I find Kangaroo meat 'gamey'.

I find it a quite strong smelling meat so cooking when there are veggos around is probably not a good idea.

The cut along the spine you are referring to is called a "backstrap". Seared and served medium rare.
yep .....
Roo a most underated meat.
instead of "hot dog" have a "hot hoof"
