I like this forum a great deal.
With regards to old threads --- perhaps there should be an inactive limit whereby after an arbitary time (say 1 year) the inactive thread is deleted.
This would help with the duplicate thread issue and help get rid of a lot of non-relevant, outdated information/ideas.

I wouldn't want to see old threads deleted, there can be a lot of value in them.

Locked and tagged "old" or "archive" etc would make some sense but I think 12 months is a bit too soon. 2 years?

I have to admit I'm reluctant to delete any threads. The great thing about threaded forums is that threads that have lost any relevence sink gradually to the bottom and threads that remain relevent continue to get bumped.

I'm sure in five or ten years there are threads that will get bumped that we will be glad are still around. History has important lessons to teach... and we are creating history with every new thread and post.

Hi i agree! some stocks may have been dudds in certain yrs, but maybe in the future it does really well so those threads get bumped back up again! So people can see how the turn around came about

Having said that, would it be possible to make easier navigation?

Like interactive navigation? I type in page number and I get it.
So I don’t have to go through all pages once thread is longer than 3 pages.

Hi all,

You may have noticed the new Commodities forum that sprung into life yesterday. I think it was long overdue and it is the first of a few changes to the structure of the forums that will hopefully help everyone - especially newcomers - find the information they are looking for.

The next step is to divide the ASX Stock Chat forum into three subforums:
Stocks A-H
Stocks I-P
Stocks Q-Z
This will make it easier to track down threads on particular stocks. However, before I can make this change I am going to go through and standardize the format for all general threads on particular stocks. So thread titles like: "MUL - Where to from here?" will simply become "MUL - Multiemedia Limited". Please note that this change will only apply to the main thread on each stock. Other, more specific or comparative threads will be left as they are.

Any comments on these changes are most welcome.
