Hi, (is that suppose to be stockbrokerkid?)
Well you have to open an account with a stock broking firm and deposit some of that polymer type stuff into it.Common firms are Comsec and E*Trade.Google and see.

How much do you need to start with? Thanks

The minimum amount of shares you can buy are generally to a cost of $500.

:)

Dear Stockbrokerkid,

If you are needing to ask the above questions, I'd suggest the first thing you should do is log on to the ASX website and work your way through their Education section. Then you will have some understanding of how the market works. Please don't commit any actual real money until you have done this at least.

Thanx Julia, shall do that.

Thanx Wysiwyg. Yes, I misspelled broker and didn't know how to change it.

A important tip for you is to paper trade (Pretend trading) until you get used to the stock market.Practice first. The new trading game starts on the ASX website in July. You can register for that from the 8th. July onwards.

I still paper trade regularly so as to try out new trading techniques and therefore I am not putting my capital at risk.:)
