Humans are not salmon. we don't give birth and die, thereby leaving our offspring to maintain the species.

if our birthrate is 1.8 that makes 3.8 units of population for every breeding pair in the first generation.

as a generation span is generally defined by the length of time between average first births and currently new mothers are around 29, that means that every 29 years the 3.8 units of pupulation becomes 5.6 units, assuming the birthrate stays stagnant.

so as humans are clearly not the afore mentioned andromous salmonidae, a birthrate of 1.8 clearly does not mean we will have a population reducing in number in the short term.

so: if a country cannot create enough primary needs for its populace, see water and food, shelter etc as well as gainful employment, then any increase in population will stretch that ability further.

and, if an increasing population, adds to the degradation of national identity, and puts increased strain on the physical environment then,

Yes, an increase in population through migration is a problem.

As far as Kiwi's go, seriously, if kiwi guys come here and marry our chicks count yourself lucky, you just may have dodged a bullet...

You have obviouslty never lived on the Gold Coast ( not that the Aussies there have much of a brain either I must admit ) but the amount of kiwis there is amazing.

What annoys me is they keep saying NZ is better, well go back bludgers.

Can honestly say that I have never met a kiwi in Australia that reckons NZ is better.

But the kiwis there no doubt recognise a wally when they see one, and know how to wind you up by saying that!

Earlier on this thread it was pointed out that most New Zealanders living in Australia have jobs.

If they are in fact receiving any unemployment benefits (and these are I understand much harder to get than they used to be), then rest assured the NZ government is billed for the appropriate amount under the Australia/NZ Reciprocal Agreement.

So it would be good if you could withdraw your comment about Kiwis being bludgers. As a New Zealander who receives nothing from the Australian taxpayer, but who contributes a fair amount of time to the community, I find that comment really crappy.

Oh so you receive nothing from the Australian taxpayer? What a load of rubbish, can you please remove such a crappy statement from your post. Everyone here recieves benefits from the Australian taxpayer.

I will never be convinced that Kiwis here are employed or not involved in crime and are not aggressive, because I have lived in areas where there are a lot of them.

That post does not relate to a previous post which you have obviously failed to read.

Perhaps you should read, and take into context posters of such quality as that, and other inflammatory posters such as Robots before making such posts.

There should be no reason as to why I should not be able to respond to nasty comments. Please, feel free to PM me a message where I have insulted, name called or personally attacked a poster on these forums without provocation.

You are aware of my opinion on the WAGES and SKILLS of tradesmen
The CONDUCT and CONTRIBUTION of kiwis
the FAILINGS of property on society etc

where does this amount to provocation?

Is it not ok for me to say, for example that property "investment" is bad for the economy but for you to say that it is?

If my viewpoints on certain aspects conflict with yours, it does not amount to a personal attack, just as I do not think you personally attack me with differing viewpoints.

Oh yes cause I have personally abused Julia and accused her of being abusive, please do not try to goad me by putting words in my mouth.

I think it is honorable for you to defend her, but for me to say "what a load of rubbish" even as it can be taken out of context in written form, is by no means abusive.
