Let the market fall, use the $700B to assist the most disadvantaged.

I must say I'm a bit worried that global finance will freeze in the next few days but I don't believe the bailout would have helped in the long run.

You cannot give that much taxpayers money to prop up these institutions, you just CANNOT !

Agree 100%.

Bailout the banks and they will pay themselves $1m bonuses, create short term unsustainable gains to keep the bonus' coming, and kick the fleeced out of their homes.

Set up a fund to help the defaulters and jobless ... 3-5 years of welfare to keep people on their feet.

The real economy will survive ... there will still be assets and markets for products out there.

Bailout will delay the inevitable whereas no bailout will see HUGE much needed shakeup in finance but just a blip on the radar long term.
