Full C/Y 2023 Stock Tipping Competition

Yes typo @frugal.rock, it should have been STX. Thanks for picking that up.

Not much for me to type in and lo and behold ..... it had to happen didn't it :roflmao:.

I was just moving things around up the top of the spreadsheet so I can cut and paste that section next time when I seen your post come in. Thanks mate :xyxthumbs.
the analysis by sector is an interesting addition

cheers

Regarding the foreshadowed addition of dividends to top tipsters -at year end, I observe somewhat ruefully, a couple of selections with high recent p.a. dividends:
- 7.6% TER
- 18% YAL

But a moot point, I don't expect to finish high enough for it to become an issue.

Thanks for that @Logique2, a point I haven't looked over completely.
When I notice dividends for the companies I will be putting the amounts in the 'Notes' section so at the end of the year I can print out the spreadsheet result as is.
Then I will add the dividends to the end price for final results.

I don't mind Competitors letting me know in this thread when their tips have a dividend :xyxthumbs . That way I shouldn't miss any, it would be a big help.

more influential this year ( but maybe not in the comp. ) will be take-over activity , and that could be tricky depending on how they play out

I had earlier written a potentially rather clever post (in my own mind, and likely totally un-clever at best, lol) which determined my numerical assessment of the XAO eoy.

It disappeared into cyber space, as often happens while randomly "surfing" of course.

Disregarding that issue, my prediction for an end of year XAO was a "devilish" "6666" !!:wheniwasaboy:

(My prediction is "bill-gates" approved (of course), lol ;)...)

(Back to the cave I think:walkingdead:)

interesting ! ASF has an 'auto-save' feature , which has saved some of my efforts

( unlike some other forums i post to )

did you try the back button ( <== ) on your browser , that usually works on Bell Direct forum ( i haven't needed to try that trick here )

PS if things go REALLY pear-shaped .. you may have one 6 too many

Haha, very funny Divs (although perhaps slightly disrespectful, lol) I am a child of the Monty Python dynasty (I suspect you may also be familiar with same;)), so, as I often have to explain to my wife (who is not silly at all), Sunday is a designated day of frivolity, hence my slightly silly posts on weekends. (I am of course extremely serious during the week ... not!) :smug:

My lack of computer skills should not be confused with my consumption (or lack thereof ... unfortunately ) of alcoholic beverages.

As you suggest, I often hit the "back" button to retrieve previous meanderings/postings, but sometimes, for whatever reason, they evaporate into thin air.

Postscript:

I was just about to post the above, then had a look at an "alert" on my ASF account. When I came back, I could not see my (above) post and thought it had disappeared ..... again!

In fact it was actually still there but on a different "page" (so to speak). I suspect my computer problems are relative to my age:wheniwasaboy:

ps @Dona Ferentes ..... That was a genuine call for the XAO EOY price DF. It may have been tongue in cheek due to my bill-gates reference, but I am happy to submit it as a bona fide selection.

My BG (666) reference was actually a serious comment, but disguised to protect the innocent (that would be me, lol)

It is all a bit scary however ..... Tip of the iceberg below:-

i , at one stage threatened to change my name to Brian , i wasn't being chased by hordes , but i thought seven was too many ( even if one was intoxicated at the time )

( BTW i was born much earlier in the month of December )
