For those interested, Firefox 3 has just reached the Release Candidate stage and IMO is much, much better than Firefox 2. I've been running it for some time now and it seems to be working great. Many sites, including ASF, seem to be loading faster when using it.

Worth a look.

Thank-you! Will give that a go now.

Thanks also! Got it now, certainly faster at loading pages!

It doesn't work with Etrade? Anyone else? Crashes every time I log in. Have to use IE now!

Thats good news - has anyone else been having hassles with opening .pdf files within firefox??

my system has been sometimes coming to a grinding halt with .pdf files. Used to work just fine. Download to desktop is fine - just some problem with the Adobe/firefox extension.

Mine is working ok with both WebIress and with PDF's (using Adobe 8 Pro).

I do not have any problems with Etrade. Is it the standard web site you have problems with or loading powertrader?

Tim

Hi, it appears only to be the new site invest.etrade.com.au, the old site loads ok???? Just logging in to etrade will crash it, don't even get to log in to power etrade.

can you give me the ip address (full url) of the site you are logging into?

I am using

https://invest.etrade.com.au/

Think that you just need to use https?!?

Tim

Yeh, that's what I've been using, but tried your link also and same thing - crash & send error report. So far only etrade crashes. I've even started in safe mode & turned off all add ons & still crashes. Not a big problem as I just go back to IE for etrade and still use FF for the rest - wait for the full release I think? Do you have something to do with Mozilla team?

Nah. Just a developer that uses FF.

(I personally dont use IE cause it wants to me to add sites to trusted list etc. And I don't want to change security settings! Keep in mind that I am also using 64bit Window server!)

Tim

The only thing that I can really suggest is that you clear out your old cache and cookies etc. and then try again with FF.

I also had no problems between Firefox 2 and E-trade, but have had difficulties since downloading FF 3.
I am blaming it for the E-trade order which went through though I did not enter my password to activate the Buy.

Phoned the computer tech to ask about this possibility and he said there have been quite a few instances of incompatibility between FF3 and other sites.
