Im interested in trading stock CFDs, are there any reputable brokers? I hear a lot about sketchy thing with CFDs but dont have the money to put up for a stock broking account.

FP Markets have been around a long time and have a good reputation.

There's some more info on them in Joe's post at the link below:

if you don't know what youre doing, have no effective technique, the instrument traded becomes irrelevant .....a different instrument with the same leveraged or margined boundaries carries the same risk and likely the same results as this narrowly chosen list (based on data available to asic)

So by extension, I hope that ASIC is equally concerned about the losses retail punters experience at Australian casinos, horse racing venues and buying lotto tickets …??

cutz, according to question I think TradeLikeTheWind is trying to fund a very small trading account since he doesn't want to fund a stock broking account even. So US10,000 for an Interactive Broker account may be bit out of reach for him at this point.

IG markets offer small CFD accounts and their reputation is not bad as they have been around on the Aussie shores for decades.

thats it. I have traded forex for a long time, with little success. I want to put up as little capital as possible. At the moment I consider myself to be in a learning phase.
