Etrade $500 free transaction offer

I realise I'm bumping an old thread, but as that's already happened a couple of times I hope it's okay.

I just signed up using E*Trade's current $550 free brokerage offer, using the 'apply now' button. That said, now I have my account I cannot see this brokerage credit listed anywhere. Additionally, when I attempt to trade it still lists a cost.

Is this expected? Is the brokerage credit subtracted from the trade price after the fact? Should the brokerage credit be listed somewhere on my account?

Thanks all, sorry for the basic question.

Best to call E*Trade 1300 658 355
8 AM to 8 PM Mon to Fri and ask them how it works now.

While ago there was special screen that showed how many free trades were used up, but cannot find it now.

Another thing, after trade is executed have a look at:
Trading > Trading History and there will be column with Brokage and Fees.

If you are charged you can call them and dispute the fee, which should be waived or extra free trade could be offered.
I think some offers have time limit like few months or until end of year or end of financial year, but best talk to them to find out exactly.

Would agree with Happy (but will add this)...

1. the free brokerage will probably be applied as rewards (somewhere under your account you will find this)

2. on the buy/sell statements you many see brokerage applied, and in every other screen on the web site. if this applies to you, then check the rewards section.

This is what happened to me when I was with Etrade.

Just make sure you read the fine print with these offers. I signed up thinking i would give them a try and get free bro, but the offer was only for the brokeage above $20ish so i still had to pay $20 a trade ( instead of the regular amount which is higher) so compared to comsec who i was already with i didn't come out ahead, or get something for nothing :(. Also i couldn't trade unless i had clear funds in the linked ANZ account, whereas I can trade with comsec without funds in my account as long as i get them in there by settlement.

cheers
