Educate yourself - there is a threat!

Might depend how 'aussie' they act? This is off the topic a bit, though related. Suffice to say, there's a steriotypical 'Aussie' and if you don't fit the mould then you may be labelled something else. I'm not saying it's right, it's just the way it is.

sure there's a threat! - question is, why are we filling up the fire extinguishers with petrol?

Now thats something that is human nature, Fighting Fire with Fire. Someone walks up to you, looks you in the eye, smiles and then smashes your nose, do you hug him or smash his nose back? or perhaps you call the UN hoping they might fix the problem?

Theres been plenty of examples of Showering them with love having better results and I wish the showering of love was used more often personally. Indonesia is a prime example, mother nature sent them a can of woop ass in the form of a tsunami and the world showered them with love and now Indo relations are alot better than they used to be.

Peace.

Interesting thread to read.

Personally I don't have much to add accept IMO that the radically driven minority, always pose some danger to mainstream society.... if tipped over the edge.

Moreso when the followers multiply.....sharing the same idealistic views. Then human nature takes over!.

Australia was formed on the idealistic views of our Kin, hopefully some resemblance remains for the generations to come!. We are fortunate to live in a country with a great lifestyle and heritage.....something to be proud of .

I'm all up for changes, just those that reflect and are absorbed into 'our way of life'.

Cheers.

QUality post there Wayne.
You are somebody with an open mind i can see.

Unfortunately some others only see what the media wants them to see.

Snake
You go ahead and spread your jaundiced ideas of intifada as you like.
I think they are fanciful and without any merit.
Furthermore, I am not sure which "banned group" you are talking about, as the referenced group is not yet banned in Australia.
I will be collecting for the Red Cross again on the weekend, as I have done for years.
Maybe that gives you a small idea of the "groups" I do support.

2020:

It's not up to me to speak for Snake, but I think perhaps you've misunderstood his reference to "20 somethings". I took from this that he was not referring to you at all, but rather to young people in their twenties whom he feels apparently have little understanding of history.

Snake, you might like to clarify this.

lol - I think you're right too, Julia. I took the wrong meaning of the ambiguity.

Hi Julia,

You are correct in your interpretation of my post. You are a quality poster here at ASF wether you agree with me or not. I don't post in general chat anymore due to the peanut brigade with limited intelligence jumping on every post that is not supportive of a threat.
Take care

Kach and Kahane Chai - Sounds like a dance, maybe a dancing duo?

Chukaku-Ha (Nucleus or Middle Core Faction) - Is this for the liberation of Chaka Khan? I had no idea.

Orange Volunteers (OV) - What about apples, bananas and lest we forget the carrots

Real IRA (RIRA) a.k.a. True IRA - not to be confused with the Imitation IRA, though if you read the label it's 80% REAL IRA(not made from concentrate)

Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) - Always helpful at night

Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) - Good to hear someone' still holding the torch for Tupac. Another dead hommie

Alex Boncayao Brigade (ABB) - Didn't this guy just win Pop Idol? I'm impressed he's already amassed an army. A fan club fair enough, but an army?!? Nice work.

CIA
MI6
The government of the United States of America

I think you have forgotten to mention some of the more serious offenders -

- Jehovah's Witnesses
- Hare Krishnas
- Kiss Army (I have a personal vendetta against these lot, though it sounds like the Alex Boncayao Brigade maybe in the initial stages of mobilising against the KA)
- Trekies

and the most dangerous of them all

- The Salvation Army (with their lethal doyen of musical assassins, the Salvation Army band - don't be fooled by the uniform and the lovable grandparent next door look, they are deadly, cold hearted killers. I have seen a tambourine used as a deadly weapon - truly frightening)

Some of these are not a concern to us, but in all honesty, the ones with most impact on our way of life are listed at the bottom(especially the SALVOS!!!)

... Terrorism has always been with us and always will

...

Here is a list of named NON-Islamist terrorist groups

...

wayneL,

as a matter of interest, 'named' by whom?

chiquita and their ilk are possibly yet to be named? or shamed?

as a further matter of interest, does anyone know, or care to hazard a guess as to which individual/s, organisation/s (named or otherwise) were first to use the ubiquitous car bomb in the current war in iraq (and feel free to provide any evidence - or at least as much evidence as those of us thankfully far removed, presently, from that abhorrent conflict are able to provide, ie media reports, credible or otherwise)

cheers

Check this in The Australian today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yS4vSWx6Bc

Its airing the US at present to mark the 4th aniversary of the war in Iraq. Its supported by many republicans, and funded by a group called the MoveAmericaForward...

Is it safe to say a few of you here agree with the sentiments of this ad?

The Yanks have certainly created a lot more enemies than they had before by their actions in Iraq. The question is; what IS victory in Iraq? What the hell are they trying to do?

I can't see a satisfactory resolution.

OMG funniest post I have seen for a long long time, hell funniest comment I've heard in awhile

Best line

Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) - Good to hear someone' still holding the torch for Tupac. Another dead hommie lol

The Yanks want to leave Iraq but they cant, the place is on the verge of a Full Blown civil War, they leave and the Sunnis and Shiates will go hell for leather for decades, with each team being supplied by either Iran or Saudi Arabia.

With the power of hindsight it was probably better leaving Saddam there just killing who he liked and violating every Human right ever dreamed of as opposed to what could happen if they Yanks withdrew.

The Whole Iraq War is Irans wet Dream come true it has massively increased there influence in the region. Its also given rebirth to that nasty old truth, " My Enemies Enemy is my Friend"

Saddam Hussein was an evil man and the world is a much better place without him. I acknowledge however that Iraq is in a complete mess. Hopefully, the situation there will improve one day, but unfortunately it probably won't happen for a while.

Guess we gotta remember that the entire world is against these terrorists - including Moslem countries. Gotta be thankful for this sort of progress - Indon is becoming far more "open" and cooperative imo.
