Might depend how 'aussie' they act? This is off the topic a bit, though related. Suffice to say, there's a steriotypical 'Aussie' and if you don't fit the mould then you may be labelled something else. I'm not saying it's right, it's just the way it is.numbercruncher said:But if they are born here surely they are Aussies ? Your ancesters are perhaps Paddys, but do your mates call you paddy ?
Theres alot more 20 somethings of Middle Eastern ancestory than of Middle Eastern birth around the place and surely the ones born here should be called Aussies , no ?
2020hindsight said:sure there's a threat! - question is, why are we filling up the fire extinguishers with petrol?
wayneL said:Re: Educate yourself - there is a threat!
Indeed. Terrorism has always been with us and always will. They should be dealt with accordingly (petrol laden fire extinguishers don't work too well.
But they are not all Islamists. Here is a list of named NON-Islamist terrorist groups active in the last 10-15 years (with a couple surreptitiously added by yours truly)
However it doesn't suit "them" to mention these.

After the alleged racist riots in Cronulla the result was destruction of property and the bashing of "aussies" who were identified as "aussies". There were subsequent happenings not reported by the media.
Red do you support the banned group that my thread is about?
2020hindsight said:what the!!? lol . I havent even posted on this thread lol.
Maybe you should be discussing any problems you have with my posts on the relevant thread.
PS I recall saying that Kaysar Trad was worth having a discussion with - to see where he stands on all this. Do you disagree Snake? - Or would you prefer to class him as "other than a REAL Moslim"?
lol - I think you're right too, Julia. I took the wrong meaning of the ambiguity.Julia said:but I think perhaps you've misunderstood his reference to "20 somethings". ..not referring to you at all, but rather to young people in their twenties ..Snake, you might like to clarify this.

Snake, you might like to clarify this.

You are correct in your interpretation of my post. You are a quality poster here at ASF wether you agree with me or not. I don't post in general chat anymore due to the peanut brigade with limited intelligence jumping on every post that is not supportive of a threat.

as a matter of interest, 'named' by whom?
chiquita and their ilk are possibly yet to be named? or shamed?
as a further matter of interest, does anyone know, or care to hazard a guess as to which individual/s, organisation/s (named or otherwise) were first to use the ubiquitous car bomb in the current war in iraq (and feel free to provide any evidence - or at least as much evidence as those of us thankfully far removed, presently, from that abhorrent conflict are able to provide, ie media reports, credible or otherwise)

Is an Iraq pull-out the nuclear option?

A withdrawal from Iraq would lead to a nuclear holocaust. That’s the message from a pro war group MoveAmericaForward, a Republican affiliated lobby, in America that launched a new advertisement yesterday marking the fourth anniversary of the war.
"The choice is clear,” the announcer says, “we win in Iraq or we face the terrorists here in America” and at that point an image of a nuclear bomb blast appears
The Yanks have certainly created a lot more enemies than they had before by their actions in Iraq. The question is; what IS victory in Iraq? What the hell are they trying to do?Rafa said:Check this in The Australian today

Its airing the US at present to mark the 4th aniversary of the war in Iraq. Its supported by many republicans, and funded by a group called the MoveAmericaForward...
Is it safe to say a few of you here agree with the sentiments of this ad?
Lucky said:Kach and Kahane Chai - Sounds like a dance, maybe a dancing duo?
Chukaku-Ha (Nucleus or Middle Core Faction) - Is this for the liberation of Chaka Khan? I had no idea.
Orange Volunteers (OV) - What about apples, bananas and lest we forget the carrots
Real IRA (RIRA) a.k.a. True IRA - not to be confused with the Imitation IRA, though if you read the label it's 80% REAL IRA(not made from concentrate)
Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) - Always helpful at night
Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) - Good to hear someone' still holding the torch for Tupac. Another dead hommie
Alex Boncayao Brigade (ABB) - Didn't this guy just win Pop Idol? I'm impressed he's already amassed an army. A fan club fair enough, but an army?!? Nice work.

I think you have forgotten to mention some of the more serious offenders -
- Jehovah's Witnesses
- Hare Krishnas
- Kiss Army (I have a personal vendetta against these lot, though it sounds like the Alex Boncayao Brigade maybe in the initial stages of mobilising against the KA)
- Trekies
and the most dangerous of them all
- The Salvation Army (with their lethal doyen of musical assassins, the Salvation Army band - don't be fooled by the uniform and the lovable grandparent next door look, they are deadly, cold hearted killers. I have seen a tambourine used as a deadly weapon - truly frightening)

I can't see a satisfactory resolution.
Saddam Hussein was an evil man and the world is a much better place without him. I acknowledge however that Iraq is in a complete mess. Hopefully, the situation there will improve one day, but unfortunately it probably won't happen for a while.numbercruncher said:The Yanks want to leave Iraq but they cant, the place is on the verge of a Full Blown civil War, they leave and the Sunnis and Shiates will go hell for leather for decades, with each team being supplied by either Iran or Saudi Arabia.
With the power of hindsight it was probably better leaving Saddam there just killing who he liked and violating every Human right ever dreamed of as opposed to what could happen if they Yanks withdrew.
The Whole Iraq War is Irans wet Dream come true it has massively increased there influence in the region. Its also given rebirth to that nasty old truth, " My Enemies Enemy is my Friend"

Guess we gotta remember that the entire world is against these terrorists - including Moslem countries. Gotta be thankful for this sort of progress - Indon is becoming far more "open" and cooperative imo.Indonesian police closing in on embassy bombing suspect. Indonesian anti-terrorist police found a huge cache of weapons and explosive material in a Central Java house following tips from suspects arrested earlier this week, a spokesman says. On Tuesday night officers shot dead a suspected militant, wounded one of his companions and arrested several others believed to have links with Abu Dujana, the leader of Southeast Asian militant network, Jemaah Islamiah (JI).
During the raid, police found three firearms, 200 detonators, 20 kilograms of TNT, hundreds of bullets and large amounts of chemicals that could be used to make bombs, national police spokesman Sisno Adiwinoto said. Asked whether police were closer to catching Dujana, Mr Adiwinoto said, "Yes, we are sure and optimistic. We are moving forward step by step."
Dujana is wanted in connection with two deadly car bombings in Jakarta, one at the JW Marriott Hotel and the other in front of the Australian embassy. Jemaah Islamiah has been blamed for launching those attacks as well as the 2002 Bali blasts that killed 202 people, 88 of them Australians.
Indonesia has already arrested hundreds for involvement in those strikes or their links to the group. The crackdown and differences among members over tactics led to changes in Jemaah Islamiah that saw Abu Dujana emerge as head of the group after the death in 2005 of master bomb-maker Azahari Husin.
Authorities say several important militant leaders remain at large. Finding them is complicated by the operation of individual cells whose members do not necessarily know about the activities of others and by ideological and tactical splits.
Malaysian national Noordin M Top, considered a mastermind of the bombing attacks and on the run for years, has been called the most wanted fugitive in Southeast Asia. Establishing his current clout within Jemaah Islamiah is difficult, police officials said.
