hi guys, i graduate with an economics degree within about 5 months and am kind of confused as to where to from here?

how would i approach getting into a broker position? im starting to look into junior broker positions, just not sure exactly what such a job would involve

any thoughts on possible future career?

Yellow Cabs ---- sorry my humor but couldnt resist!

Full service brokers are becoming a dying trade with so many other opirions available.

I'd be trying the larger Brokerages.
Merchant Banks.
Maybe CFD providers.

Hi mate, I finished with an economics degree a few years back and was thinking either stock broking or financial planning when i was near completion. I went into financial planning (as a para-planner - a technical role that supports and assists the financial planner). I'm really glad I took this avenue as the profession is a lot more diverse and interesting, and there are heaps of positions available. Demand does outstrip supply!
Broking is good, but depending on where you live can be more difficult in getting a decent position. Your best bet is to contact all the large broker houses; Maquarie, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup etc..

With an economics degree, you really are set in finding a role in financial services, though you will need to do further study. Its a good launching pad to any financial role, including broking.

Good luck
