Does Chi-X even trade ETO? They trade warrants, ETFs and ordinary stock....but not ETO to my understanding. So what are these MM peeking at?
Are you talking about order at the same price? OR a superior price?
So you send a buy order via Comsec for ETO... say 500 @ $7.50. Do you see a market maker jump in front of you @ $7.50 or $7.51 (or higher)?
How the hell do you know? You would have to have micro second time stamps on the order book quotes and a way of capturing it.their quotes come in before mine hits the market.
sorry ,Omega surprised you haven't got anything to say about this?
there is no market on long term index eto.
No orders, no prices, no one trades it. View more of along term investment to take advantage of current option prices or longer term view etc. This means lesser distortion.
so I put in a quote to see the prices
Then the mm quotes to capture the spread on top of the their fair value of the option calculation
their quotes come in before mine hits the market.
Mine stays there but the MM adjusts for small changes in the index price by cents in microseconds and then a pulled about 2 mins or so etc So they can still get their benefits for quoting
The point is their quote hits before mine.
How is the question. They must be able to see something I can't. I hypothesise it was chi-x along with some kind of tracking etc.
