Wayne,you forgot to add,
And the strenght to hide the bodies of those who get in my way.

That addendum only applicable for governements. Us citizens aren't allowed to hide bodies

I think many people follow this creed:

"God grant me the strength to change the things I can,

the serenity to accept the things I cannot

and the wisdom to know the difference."

Most of us are no less repulsed than you. I guarantee it!

Wayne, watching six oclock news,2 representative of the muslim community are asked for their opinion on the Jones saga, why doesn`t the media think it important enough to seek these people out on the 16yr victim of ismalic Iran.
One of them Waleed Aly,who at other times has been interviewed in support of the hijab, why not seek him out for this issue.

This is the silence I cannot understand by people who have the power to affect change.

The media are not interested in the issue, thats why. The media are interested in the charactar assination of celebrities, because it sells papers, gets people to watch their totally BS news shows.

We the people should demand better of our journalists, but don't. Most of us actually believe every word they say

Dean Jones is easy target, and nobody can claim religious or racial foul play when he is attacked.

Kind of safe bashing.

its quite amazing isn't it...

this is one mystery that really has got me baffled... becuase its not just rabble who beleive in what they hear... but educated colleagues... who I thought should have known better!

Well this changes things, according to the 2MMM morning sports show today,
the player in question (can't remember his name) has the nickname of guess what "terorist" by his FELLOW team mates.

So there's Deano at the back of the press box thinking the mikes off saying the teroist's out. OK dumb maybe, but what if it was Gillie or Warney etc.

What matters is not so much what the words are but what is really meant by the words, in this case he lost his wicket, nothing more.

I saw that program. It was just awful and disgusting.

But what we can we do? It is Iran we are talking about and the religion is Islam. I have personal experience of immediate relatives going out with men of that religion, in both cases ending badly for the women but what can we do when people don't share our values?

We can only do our best to ensure we educate our children and warn and defend the women of Australia's rights and that includes the Muslim women!

It is only a percentage, and there is a percentage of males in general society that also act simarly.

I have no time for people who suggest that Muslims should be allowed to practice Sharia Law in their own communities. They have to obey the laws of this country which provides protection to women.

At least with Dean Jones, we can easily discuss what a idiot he has been and semingly will always be.

Knobby you were saying about educating our children and defending women`s right, one thing I`ll like to know is,while the women are sunbathing on the beach exclusively for them, where will their men be? On a beach for everyone, and the other thing I`d like to know what the hell are these people thinking even considering this idea?

Visual, you are outraged by what had happened at the hands of Iranian "morals police" to the 16 year old Atefah. There are two sides from which events such as that one are viewed - ours and theirs. We see it as completely immoral, completely illegal and grossly inhuman. Mullahs of Iran, however, see it as completely moral to kill even a young girl, because she has committed "crime against chastity". The gap in our moral codes is about 1200 years.

It was also reported that Atefah was raped by the "morals police" whilst she was in their custody. Part of the punishment, of course. And also a statement about morals of the morals police.

And what can you say about that fool Dean Jones? To us he is Dean Jones and we are not too critical on what he says or how he says it because we know that he is a good guy. When he goes overseas, however, he is an Australian whose name is Dean Jones. He represents us and what he says and what he does reflects on all of us.

Just imagine the negative propaganda value about Australia that he has given to the Muslim world. Bloody idiot.

I haven't bothered reading whatever the media had to say about him, but if they were rough - then I'd say they haven't been rough enough. Jones got the message and came home with his tail between his legs. What the media has to say is for all others who may one day be representing us overseas. The message should come across as "Don't do what Dean Jones did".
