Hello All,

Has anyone ever used the above combination for their trading?

For those who have, does anyone know how to organise the data supplied by JustData into more meaningful groups, as currently the data is simply alphabetically / numerically sorted into different folders by their ticker codes.

The problem with this approach is that it is impossible to select all the stocks from a particular group (such as the Top 100 for the ASX or the FTSE100 for the LSE) without having to manually select them one by one.

Any help much appreciated....

It can be done but I found it very difficult and gave up in the end.

That is exact reason why you were recommended Norgate over Justdata. They are no comparison when it comes to Amibroker.

You might have been better off getting ASX/US data from Norgate and UK from JD??

Hi BentRod,

The reason for choosing JustData over Norgate was I wanted to use only one data vendor for my trading. I felt at the time that relying on two different vendors (as Norgate doesn't supply LSE data) would be even more difficult to organise & maintain.

Additionally, I had read some very positive reviews of JustData on here so they seemed the more obvious choice.

However, as you say, this seems to be a mistake of my behalf.... :(

Hi,

I assume you are talking about Bodhi Gold, it can be done.

Go to configure and right mouse click on distribution word and then click Manager. You have to go through on all the highlighted paths and click Status active off. Then go up to the path menu at the top and create a path where you want the files to go and make it active. It will create multiple ASX folders however if your over 2000 stocks eg ASX0, ASX1 etc. Don't know how to get it to take out the ASX100 thou.

You can change the top 500 to top 100 if you select it and then right click on the top500 word and it will let you change the value if that helps. Don't know if that means the ASX100 or not.

I dont know if you have tradesim but if you do all you need is the list of the constituents of whatever you want as a universe and its really easy.
Ive made my own (indexes) from constituents of univesrse I wish to trade.

I have Bohdi Gold and I'm sure it can be done.BUT think you have to manually tick each.
Ring Brian at support he is excellent and ask.

With tradesim I just need the codes on a notepad and its a 2 minute job.

Hi Lusk,

I did have a quick read of the manual but I shall take another look at the pages that you mentioned.

Another thing that has confused the hell out of me is that there seems to be a number of different charts for the same company stock (on the LSE anway) and its not initially clear which chart contains the correct price information

I used to use Paritech a few years ago and their LSE data was a lot easier to navigate through... However, I'm sure over time I will familiarise myself with the way JustData structures their data....

Thanks for your comments.......

I use this combination.

The easiest (at least for me) to organize the data (i.e: WatchList, Open Position, All ASX, All NASDAQ, etc):
1. Go to the Explorer, and select whatever filter there (doesn't matter)
2. When the window asking to add the stock to want to add, just add whatever grouping you want
3. Then you can 'save' all of the selection into one single folder (smart shortcut will be saved there, so if just data update the original location, this shortcut will be updated as well)
4. If they are in one folder, you can scroll through from navigation panel in the bottom right corner.

Sorry, I don't have the screen/software in front of me right now , so cannot give you the exact wording of the menu or button.... but generally that's the idea....

For ASX an US, Just data is pretty good value !!
Hope this helps...
Thanks

Hi Xtanda,

If you are referring to Metastock then this was actually the method which I was now thinking of using, so thanks for confirming this :D

The only annoyance is having to manually find the various stocks codes for each group but at least this is a one-off activity.....

Cheers All for your help.....

PS. Just remembered I no longer have to manually search for the stocks now :) Thanks Tech..........

*** UPDATE ***

Hello All,

Based on the advice on here, I now seem to have a workaround solution which seems to work pretty well so thanks to all......
