Cyclone Monica

really? So you don't think there will be another after that? I seem to recall some months back a similiar cyclone in the same area moving in the opposition direction. We shall see.

There is absolutely no way of knowing where monica will go at this moment in time ,but if I was a bettor I would say it is in the slot for cns cooktown.

Good luck too all in Darwin. Monica looks like it could be a nasty piece of work.
I laughed.
Daughter is called Monica - sometimes think the cyclone references are more apt!

Re: Cyclones

Will this be a cyclone and cross the Pilbara coast on Xmas day?

CoffeeKing - I'd be suprised if Monica manages to get to the Pilbara Coast. It has been the strangest weather in this region and I don't think it has been hot enough for a cyclone to come down just yet (water temperature has everything to do with cyclones).

Re: Cyclone

Yea it was just a long thought, I've been through some beauties up here in the past and some one seems to get one around Xmas time, looks like it might be Wyndham

Trader Paul mentioned this in his Astro thread.

He said it will occur somethime end of December, going into early January.

This is what he said

Any updates Paul?

"Hi folks,

..... looking at these warning signs a little closer, some consideration
must also be given to areas adjacent to the target and other areas
nearby, that may be vulnerable to a natural disaster.

To the south-west of Port Hedland, we have the North-west Shelf
gas plants onshore and their supply platforms, in adjacent offshore
areas, too.

On the same longitude, further to the north, there is also the ever-present
danger of the Indonesian caldera on East Java ...
(where the STO mud-flow debacle is still unfolding).

Whatever happens, man-made or natural, this event looks BIIIIIIIG ... !~!

have a great day

paul"

I don't think there is more than one cyclone at the moment. Where did the name Monica come from? It's Billy off the WA/NT coast.

This was an old thread I found
Rather than start a new thread I dug this one up, should of started one named cyclones...

Maybe I will as these things can be destructive
