I think it is extremely unfair that a mob of coppers who were caught in a police bus alighting and running around same bus naked, are being demonised by the media and politicians.

These young lads work in a high tension dangerous environment and got on the piss for a bucks party.

What in gawds name is wrong with a few coppers running naked around a bus pissed.

All these senior coppers who look like South American generals with all their bling and medals are now saying what bad boys they are.

Save our coppers who occasionally get pissed and run around a bus naked.

Ordinarily I would think, leave them alone, they just having some fun but I bet they wouldnt have the same sympathy for me if they caught me just having some fun! If they want to enforce stupid rules then they have to abide by them also!

These guys are willing to ride on the running boards of their Nissan Patrol going head first into some of the most dangerous environments in civilian conflict and enforcement.

They put their lives at risk to protect the likes of you and me.

Some of them have ended up dead.

They got pissed, let off a bit of steam and got a bit wobbly.

BIG F*CKING DEAL.

Praise them, don't punish them.

Let there never ever be another Water Police vessel bear the name of another SERT Officer.

Hear hear, I think coppers along with nurses are the salt of the earth, even if one gives you a clip over the ear and the other a bad rash from tiime to time.

Agree also.
I couldn't care less if a bunch of idiots want to make fools of themselves.
But to do it doing a Police vehicle was simply stupid.

NO they was only indecently exposing themselves

im feeling frisky , i wish i could go prance around naked in public right now too but i heard there may be a law against it .......... i dare say they would be quick to lock me up over it...

yes totally agree we should let them get away with breaking the law as they are really great people and we should respect that they can break it but not us........

Just remembering your postings in GG's footy boys misbehaving thread, would it be ok if they were a bunch of footy players in the team bus?
 
Stood Naked at a bus stop once on Oxford St Leederville and never got a ride on the bus, ...kindly tied to the post by my mates on my bucks night I was dressed only in baked beans, coleslaw, and most other food stuff available in the pantry.

All in fun, and I am sure the coppers were just having fun too.

Sometimes you just gotta look at life and have a laugh when you can.
Media always on the prowl looking for the establishment to stuff up. Get over it journo, pollies etc.
 
Throw the book at em. They never show mercy to the common man which is their choice so we should see them done to a dinner.

You exaggerate, but yes the potential response of police does keep a greater level of security and peace.

I can only remember seeing one attractive female cop. There may have been some others, but the encounters were not memorable. Nurses on the other hand...their reputation is well-deserved. Sexy and caring.

They arent all bad, they let people off all the time for little things..

No, Tink, they were not within the confines of a bus. They were running around outside it. A witness noted the rego and called in a complaint to the police (oh the irony).

Can you explain why you think it's OK for police officers to indulge in this sort of behaviour, but not 'ordinary' people? Or are you happy for everyone to run naked through the streets 'as long as they are not actually hurting anyone'?

They were using a police service vehicle. Is this an appropriate use for a tax payer funded vehicle, do you think?
 
Thin end of the wedge...one set of rules for the police and one for the general public. The police have a responsibility to uphold the law as well as abide by it, if allowed to relax rules for police for certain unruly behaviors the whole issue would become very gray (what laws can they break? that the public can't).

There are plenty of other people who do good/brave and charitable work that I'm sure the police force would not turn a blind eye too if they got naked ran through the streets and a drunken and unruly state.
