Computershare and Link Market Services etc.

Cleaned out my files recently and yep - had to replace and upgrade the shredder.
So great to be living in the paperless 21st Century :(
Computershare is the worst by far,Their processes abysmal and their servers slow as hell, and they are unable to process a quick setup of tfn and bank details.
Sadly seem the most popular.
, i prefer linkedservices by far, boardroom ok

QF, before I read your post, could you please first:
* Click through 3 websites that don't allow you to bookmark the actual log in site
* Enter you User ID (which can't be saved in your browser)
* Enter you password
* Answer a verification question
* Select your holding
* Randomly choose,....

Hang on, I've forgotten, what were we trying to do again???

Sigh. Presumably we're all held to ransom because some creative hacker kid in the Ukraine was regularly getting through their security in the past :(

Another rant against this useless website produced by Link Market Services.
Can't open another account with a different HIN.
Can't update my tax details or even check the payment details that they have are correct.

F'ing useless. Happy to short this company every day of the week.

Edit: Now they want me download an app on my phone for two factor identification. I don't use a mobile phone regularly.

Yeah. Your email which is used to login is linked to one HIN so two HINs don't work. Link was good at one point. If you held a share personally and the same share in another entity e.g SMSF, you could link the other holding via the HIN. Now you need an authority from the other holding before it can occur. If a share holding is valued > $200k you also have to register your mobile phone against that holding otherwise you can do nothing as it requires the one-time code sent to your phone.

Becoming more common. Link uses Google Authenticator. Macquarie has its own and unless you use it you will not even get into your account. Also required to do a transaction.

Becoming more common.

Yeah, unfortunately. So we'll end up with specific apps for every account we want to access. I use Chrome authenticator so I'd prefer to use it to authenticate many accounts? Won't happen I know. PITA.

Just wasted a half hour talking to support at Link Market Services.

It's possible to have multiple HINs under one email login. I added my personal holdings (different HIN) to the Sfund holdings. All holdings in one huge list until you erase the zero holdings.

However this presents a problem in the future and is going to waste more of my time to fix it. Each HIN has a different TFN and payment instructions. In order to ensure the correct TFN and payment instructions are applied to each holding I have to check each holding individually. PITA. The website doesn't show the TFN so the only way I can check it is to re-enter it and if it's the same, the website shows an error message indicating that the update has failed rather than informing me that the details were the same as registered and there was no change required.

If I check the option of appyling a TFN and pay instr's to all future holdings, how will I know the correct ones will be applied?

It might be better to use one email login for each HIN so that the correct details are applied to all future holdings for that HIN.

Huge PITA.
