Stockbroker kid, g`day, do you think the questions you ask are very very basic and could easily be answered by doing your own research.

Questions like ....
Hi, I am just wondering how do you buy a share of a company such as BHP, or IMP.
and

Can anyone tell me where I actually start with buying stocks? Which ones? do I need a broker? and how do I find one that actually is successfull? How much do you need to start with? Thanks

It seems you are ...

a) too lazy to find out the basics of the share market (type word in google ;))

I had a feeling someone would give us a hard time judging from previous responses. The fact is my 12-year old son wants to learn about the stock market. I am his mother and have registered for this sight in the hope to get some answers and learn. My son has taken all of the wonderful advice given to him from this sight and has applied for the ASX sharemarket game. Everyday he is researching the ASX watchlist and reading information, looking at the paper and waiting for the nightly news. He also looks up companies etc etc.

I think he wanted to know if there was anything else apart from the ASX charts he could look at :)

WOW! That is young.

Maybe open a broker account with etrade/commsec etc. He will be able to knock himself out with their research info. I don't think you even need to fund it with etrade to get basic access

Yeah with commsec you can open an account and use their info without having to deposit any funds and it has all the basic company info. I use it for the metastock EOD data.
