So Commsec's changed their site around, I'm still out on whether it's a better design, but I'm leaning towards the previous. What's really irritating me is that I can't find a very useful page I stumbled upon before the change, where it listed all your trading history (confirmations), dates they occurred and whether buy or sell, costs, total brokerage paid so far and a link to download the contract note, all in simple handy little rows down the table.

I can't find anything but "Transactions" which just lists everything that occurs within my account, including cash receipts and other payments which I don't need to see. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or know where that page has moved to?:banghead:

Edit: Nevermind, found them under Trading > Share Orders > Confirmations, still when I type in "Confirmations" into the quick quote/search nothing appears, but it was in the video....

All my old watchlists are gone and I can't create new ones, does this sound bad enough? :)

I'm still using the old version of comsec. The access to the confirmations list is under the "My Portfolio" tab. Very useful, particularly at year end for tax returns.

I agree with your comments, also when you come to do your tax there are no details of commissions in the transaction statement , how dioes one separate CGT from expenses?

So pleased to find this thread. We were regraded last week and I'm really uncomfortable with the new site. I suppose we'll get used to it, but video support is useless on wobbly wireless broadband and it's weird to have to hunt for things that had long since been relegated to muscle memory.

Since the upgrade:

Received my Confirmation Contract Notes in the mail today.

Been charged for printed confirmation postal fee per contract note.

Before it was by emailed & no charges.

From memory one can click a button in "Profile" to have Contract Notes emailed & not charged

Looks like my profile has been reset & the above option cannot be located.

Anyone have similar problem & how to fix it? Else will have to ring Comsec tomorrow.

EOD data download file size is double the size & full of expired & non traded ETO, warrants, etc......

Found it.

It is under Portfolio, Account, Account Details and somewhere near the bottom "confirmation"

Congratulations :)

RU generally happier with the new interface than the old one? I'm finding it a very difficult change. Nothing seems obvious to me; I'm not even sure which of the 47 identification numbers they've assigned me I should use to log in.

I can't see much difference with the site, seems like tinkering around the edges, wish they fixed up the dynamic platform to offer online option combinations

On the positive note option margining has been improved. :)

I am very annoyed that I have to enter all my watchlists again. Anyone else? On contacting Commsec, they advise that "the watchlist's will need to be reentered due to the new format of the website".

I haven't been asked to upgrade, then again I haven't traded much over the last 12 months.

Anyone else an orphan?

I'm still on the old site. However, last week, I was advised that I would be "upgraded" in January 2012.

Commsec "new" site bad-no indices in End-of-day downloads (once again)

Hi,
It is on again... A fight with Commsec as they have dropped all indices from the "End of Day Prices" download section in their "new" website implemented on 13 Feb 2012.

Yes, I know there is a page of Indices you can download. But, for those that do charting, we need the index data supplied along with all share prices in the one download. Also, the index page will only let you download current indices, ie. no historical retrieval.
Refer to this link for previous Commsec fights..

By going public, we forced them to fix it last time.

Re: Commsec "new" site

I think the only good change with the new site is that the site does not log you off if there has been no activity for about 1/2 hour. I can leave it open all day.

But then for a active trading you need to use COMSEC IRESS which as I have stated in another post is a complete JOKE. Looks like it has been written by a a Year One JAVA novice.

Honestly for all the resources that COMSEC has - they should have invested in a good software developer.

IRESS is slow - the dialog boxes don't conform to any computing rules.

MANAGE ORDERS have to be manually refreshed.

Their tech team have no wish to improve or listen to frequent traders like myself. It is almost like their pride is being hurt that someone should actually suggest that some things need to be improved.

I would jump shipto ETRADE if not for the inconvenience of having transfer accounts and CHESS holdings.

I use comsec as well. The new site took some getting used to.

However the only thing I found that I lost, was the Month End Portfolio Statement. The Accountant likes this when reconciling the SMSF trading from 1 Year to the next and doing the SMSF audit ech year end. In response to my inquiry the said they would look into re-instating it. In the mean time they have undertaken to provide me with a manual on at year end.

I had the some problem with 2 Month End Portfolio Statement in 2008, but it was for my personal account lucky I didn’t have any transaction for tax purpose. So just report them the problem
Buy never I’ve got this statements for this particular months
