In the CommSec app when you click into a share it says at the top corner “volume” does that mean how many shares there are available at the moment or the total shares they sold?

Total shares traded today.

Yeah, it's the Comsec dynamic platform, wondering what other people think of it ?

Commsecc, like Westpac have a Iress based system available. (Probably not through any smart phone app though, could be wrong...)
For Westpac, use of the system is usually a monthly fee. Probably the same for Comsecc unless trading large volumes/ money.
Personally, I don't like the Iress system which is a 3rd party system. I find it clunky, dislike the user interface etc.
Has been around for eons though and is customisable, if you have the time to learn it.
Runs separately through a Java runtime environment.

... and an extra reason why i am not an active trader

( Commsec is one of the platforms i use )

I was going to write poor US market investors using comsec...and then I remember how I had to get out of my Pershing comsec account a few years ago..what was I thinking, international exposure for the peons...nahhh
well i could never find a comfortable way to trade international shares

so i stuck to ASX ( and dual-listed ) shares that operate in foreign domains , i still haven't worked out if the is an FX win or loss

And it's broken again.

Can log in but can't access the "Trading" part of the site which makes it a bit pointless.

OK, so the market's not open tomorrow, but I wanted to update some conditional orders anyway.

PS - Hopefully not the case this time, but historically whenever I've encountered technical trouble with brokers or transacting directly owned managed funds there was one thing in common. In hindsight it was a good time to sell. Hmm......

So far I've had a pretty good run with CommSec but if they're going to keep messing about then it'll be time to find another broker. Two failures in a week raises some questions......

probably trying to implement the new changes to the margin loans ( i don't have that facility )

that will have some customers changing some strategies/trading patterns

but i notice the annoying pop up to announce changes to a product i don't use

Can anyone confirm please that CommSec IRESS Viewpoint isn't working at present?

I can access CommSec itself in the normal manner but IRESS goes nowhere, dead. Was like that this morning and still dead now.

Just wanting to confirm that it's a general problem and not some issue with my own computer etc.

Thanks.

i have normal Commsec , IRESS never worked properly for me even when i transacted enough for a free month

so sorry i can't help you there

good luck

Well they're half way to fixing it:

Just one catch, charts are the only thing I use it for.
