And have heard they've just bought out Avcol stockbroking - seems crazy when they can't cope with the customers they already have!
 
Were you guys using PT1 or 2? PT1 has been up all day for me, just had a pretty hard time with the volume in the first 2 hours so was a bit slower than normal.
 
OK don't wish to sound ignorant but what is PT1 and PT2 ?

I still can't get on to Comsec, been about 3 hours now, can't even get the first page to open up. I assumed everyone was having the same problem ?
 
Oh well lucky they didn't go down on a busy day or anything - is not like anyone'd be wanting to access their accounts the day after the DOW drops 300+pts!

How absolutely infuriating.
 
Finally just came back up - what an absolute joke - they should issue a letter of apology at the very least !!!!!!!!!!
 
Sorry, PT is Pro Trader, the stand alone trading platform from Commsec. Didn't realise you were talking about the web site. That must have been a MAJOR bummer!
 
pffft cant get in on the Web based login and cant get in using pro trader, conspiracy theorys!

I cant even get close to getting in now.. I get a message telling me to email them with the error code..

I'm pissed too man cos last August crash they promise to upgrade the hardware
and said it wont happen again.

I'm going to write an email and complains and start looking for another brokers if I dont get something sensible out of them

Anywhere in their terms & conditions does it say they're not liable for this? Ching-Ching, I smell a law suit. I can get back some of the losses!!
 
Unacceptable!....How's this....trying to place a sell trade thru PT2...plenty of target stock available at price. Rejects the order....I
"Incorrect trading password"!!!! Tried several times...same.

Now....10 mins later....reinputed.....same password....accepts. Just scraped in at price....

Still cant access web-based to place an order though.....
 
Seriously considering changing to e-trade. Every time they get too many users logging in they go offline what a joke.
 
Commsec's standalone platform (Pro Trader) has been up and rock solid all morning....until 2 mins ago. That's now dead as well
 

Update to this joke....my sellorder hasn't actually transacted despite being the only sell overlapping buy orders. My sell order is not even on the PT2 depth screen despite being listed as "in the market".....!

I can't log onto Etrade. Happens every time we have a big day. A shame we can't sue for losses.... is Comsec any better?
 
I bet its the budget version of the Plunge Protection Team , a clandestine unit of government sponsored computer hackers intent on enforcing orderly unwinding of equity markets with a bias towards protecting big business at the expense of the little guys.


Thats my conspiracy theory for today anways
 
comsec is down as well.

consider changing to westpac, it is working fine 100%
 
Has anyone notice that the stuff you can get into on Commsuck has reverted to the pre-update layout>>?? interesting...
