im currently being charged 29.95 in and out, but i hear people and i saw on the commsec site the other day its 19.95....which one is it?

oh so because my commsec is linked to a BENDIGO BANK ACCOUNT IS THAT THE REASON IM PAYING 29.95?

Yep...you must have a CDIA account linked to your Commsec and you must have a $5000 deposit to establish the account, but there is no minimum account balance once established, i.e. you can withdraw the $5k the next day.

Not so here . . . My 'Commsic' (a common nickname for them) account is linked to an outside bank namely Suncorp, and I pay $19.95 . . . .

I used to trade through Commsec years ago and went over to Sanford because of Commsec's poor service and poor reliability . . . . . recently Sanford was taken over by Commsec so I'm reluctantly back again. . . . . .

Again I find Commsec painful.

Amongst any number of other hassles that they manage to provide, their international rates are totally absurd. .75% compared with as low as . 15% at many other brokers.

Up to as late as this week I've had some sort of hassle with them, and have had zilch satisfaction from their customer service people. They really don't give a rats'.

Am in the process of moving elsewhere . . . .

so i should be paying 29.95 or 19.95 cos im only investing in $2500 lots atm and it makes a difference

I thought there was a $1000 minimum? Definitely is $5k to get started.

easy way.

open a CDIA account and trade at 20$ not $30

if u dont have spare $5k laying about

use a credit card to open a CDIA account for $5k and withdraw the next day.

thing is, u still have to settle, so u need to have cash available, just in case something goes wrong, ie trading halt, big loss, communications outage etc

tony

Commsic have an arrangement with Pershing in the US.
Via the Commsic site you can trade US stocks. You need to st up an A/c with Pershing . . . . details are on Commsic's site

But beware !!!!!!!! Commsic are horribly expensive.
