Hi all

I'm in the market for a new car :D and I found lot of sites in US where they list how much a dealer get invoice for a car from manufacture so you have plenty of bargain power in your hand to negotiate..I don't seem to find a similar site in Australia.

Does it exist ?

Dont know, but what they will do is ad extras for free, like datadot, mats, ect ect.

I thought it was transparent:

"$29,990 plus $1790 dealer delivery"

no no no
$29,990 is like RRP, dealer get a lot a lot less than that from manufacture like Honda/Toyota etc.. so with $29,900 they already make a big fat profit on it..
the extra stuff is just cream on the cake man not even worth bargaining for...

If you know say they pay $21,000 for the dealer invoice you can bargain them hard and get them to sell it for you a lot less than 29,900 etc...

I do this with JB hi-fi and get absolutely bargain even on top of their normal sale price once I know their whole sale price.. or mark up margin price

Where do you get this info on the JB Hifi wholesale pricing?

You need to be a bit careful.... :) There are various ways to make the wholesale price higher than it looks. For instance, some of the retailers have rebate arrangements, where the whole sale price is $xxx, but once sold, the retialer can claim a rebate of x% from the manufacturer. This rebate level varies from store to store, and is in fact the most closely guarded secret.

At JB hifi I always get a discount on big stuff, ask first and then go away and then come back with an offer, works so far :D

With cars, you don't need to know their price, just shop around and play hard to get. Buy your extras when you buy the car, ask for them for nix, then when you are ready to buy the car, tell them you will buy today, and make another offer, they get real antsy when you say "I am buying today" :D
