Well they are loading up with both barrels and ready to blow their feet off with the imigration issue.
I am sure Indonesia would like nothing better than to rub, grubby labor's nose in the dirt, after the live cattle issue.
This is the problem with labor, they think everyone just forgives and forgets, as they get on their way creating mayhem.LOL,LOL,LOL
Their legacy will be rolled out and I'm sure Bambang will put in his $0.02c worth.

As for Bill, well he is desperate to be the next chosen one for the $450k jackpot. So if you say nothing, you can say nothing wrong, great tactic if you are surrounded by winners.
Not so good when you are surrounded by losers, they look like losers with attitude, you look like loser without conviction.
It seems they are taking the bash Tony to a whole new level, which is good because they are just showing how little of their own achievements are worthy of news.

Bill Shorten is just another example of people with little or no ability worming themselves into highly paid positions.
No doubt his connection with the GG had everything to do with it but WE foot the bill and have to put up with ineffective people on our payroll.

Change the meaning to suit yourself?
Yes or no

This whole thing is ridiculous, especially that he has daughters.
No wonder his wife came forward.

What ever it takes.

Changing the dictionary - easy.

Interestingly, I heard on the radio this morning that the Macquarie Dictionary, as a result of the current social discourse, is going to update its definition of misogyny. A spokeswoman for the dictionary said that its meaning in usage for the past twenty years or so has diverged from the traditional definition of hating women. Heard it on Radio National.

Completly pathetic hypocrisy again. Guardians of the English language and others may feel embarrassed.

Bill Shorten is a prime example of fake political correctness imo, he is full of bs, ex-union guy, swears his head off

Stupid for Gillard to call Abbott a misogynist, doesnt ring true to me.

Stupid for Gillard to call Abbott a misogynist, doesnt ring true to me.

Gillards' proof in her rant is very feeble.

The real proof for Gillard is - "Tony Abbott is a misogynist because I screamed it out at him and because we (the Labor Party) all said it on numerous occasions"

Come on Julia get a life or start acting like a PM.

Shame on the Maquarie.

Shame on the Maquarie.
Indeed. They should keep out of partisan politics.

The only saving grace is that they would have to redefine liar to save this government.

Word Of The Day

OK

So we render the word "sexist" redundant by making sexism "misogyny".

Fine.

So what then do we use for wha used to be referred to as misogyny?

Pffffft ridiculous.

"abbottony" for the noun and "abbottinist" for the adjective.

Actually this redefining of the word has screwed things up. Since few Labor male MPs were willing to state on the record that they believed Abbott was a woman hater, I was hoping the opposition would raise a motion to censure Gillard for calling Abbott a misogynist, based on its up to now meaning of "woman hater". Then any Labor MP who voted against the censure motion, would be implicitly saying that they actually believed Abbott to be a woman hater and would have to defend why they believe that to be the case. However, the redefining of the word now gives everyone a way out.

Gillard needs to be asked in what context she used the word.

This is beyond ridiculous - the Macquarie dictionary is changing the definition of a word because Gillard misused it? Pathetic.

Slightly off topic but does anyone remember a few years ago when Sophie Mirrabella was pregnant and someone said they hoped her baby would die? I can't remember who it was but I have a feeling Tanya Plibersek had something to do with it. Can anyone help me out? I have done a Google search but nothing came up (and yet I'm sure the incident happened).

This will be what you're thinking of, Miss Hale. It was Belinda Neale, not Tanya Plibersek.
from Wikipaedia:

Sophie Mirabella has imo brought much upon herself. She has handed out her share of insults and silly comments.
The Libs would be the better for replacing her on the shadow front bench with e.g. Kelly O'Dwyer.

Yes that's it, thanks Julia. I had a feeling Plibersek tried to defend Neale's comments in an interview later (I think this was when my opinion of Plibersek took a dive). Yes, I am no great fan of Mirrabella - I tend to agree with her policy position on most things but she has a poor way of expressing herself and, as you say, has handed out her fair share of insults as well. She has zero tact!

I suppose the reason I was trying to remember this is that I was thinking that really all this insulting stuff has been going on in parliament since the year dot and certainly by the Labor party so their cries now that Tony Abbott and the Coalition are dragging the parliament to new lows is just so much rubbish. To hear Gillard say in her now infamous misogyny speech that she had to endure misogyny and sexism every day from Tony Abbott was just sick making because it's simply not true. Every day? What utter rubbish.

Of course it is.
