BHP Operational Review 17 April 2025

My opinion only, please do your own due diligence

had it lined up , a buy at $33.33 (why not) in the early first 10 minutes ... but had second thoughts. Which is interesting, as I'd thought low 37's was it, a few weeks ago.

So, tomorrow, what's going to play out?

BHP Invests $13 Billion to Streamline Chilean Mining Operations

BHP’s latest operational review has booked record nine-month copper and iron ore production. The company's copper production was at 1.5 million tonnes, which it said was partly driven by a 20 per cent increase at the Escondida operation in Chile.

One of my picks in the 2025 Comp. Like you @mullokintyre I was hoping it would fall further in to the low $30's for an add in the recent turmoil. But it hasn't.

They still are one of the better Australian companies imo.

Adshead-Bell also highlighted the discovery of Lundin-BHP’s Vicuña project, the biggest copper find in 30 years. The resource hosts 28 million tonnes of copper, 81 million ounces of gold, and 1.5 billion ounces of silver, though development is complicated by high arsenic content.

BHP made no announcement, but Lundin came out with this on 05 May (our time)

Filo del Sol and Josemaria are about 10 km apart. ....the hard bit is the altitude at 5000m in a harsh and remote section of the Andes mountains
