Hi everyone,
I am pretty new on here but was wondering what does everyone use in terms of software for trading.

Free software and also commerical (I dont mind paying monthly if it is worth it).

My ultimate intentions are to be a day trader (although i dont have much to start of with -abt $25k right now)

Appreciate the help ppl :):)

Hi ans

suggest open a comsec a/c and gain access to their basic data which is extremely comprehensive - will cost nothing and (from memory) you just need to give them bank account details (any bank a/c I think) and they open a trading a/c for you
whilst there are many providers out there, all the info to trade eod or weekly you will get there including basic and advanced charts - share price info is up to the minute but charts are updated in the evening after trade

Hi ,I think you'll get lots of different advice on here,so much depends on whether you understand the markets ,whether you've done a course ,or how you trade-fundamental/technical,pure price action, time ,waves .etc, etc.If you understand shares ,then I would recommend signing up for a trial(most of them have a 14 day trial with no commitment on your part) demo with a cfd provider where you can trade leveraged shares in a simulated account without risking any of your own money to start with, even if you do not intend trading cfds you'll have an idea of how things work, with live prices market depth etc.caution is always best, you can get eaten alive out there. For software Fc charts is pretty good and has a free version but it is end of day only, and eod data is available free from cooltrader ,or yahoo finance, there are heaps of other sites as well for data for a (small)fee.I am a private trader and have no affiliation with any of the abovementioned sites or companies.Always be cynical about advice you receive(even this)until you've tested things for yourself.hope this helps.Cheers Mike
