Best Antidote for a Hangover

I love VB, drank it like water when the north wind was a blow'in...makes me miss Australia sooo much. There are better beers in Australia i know...i guess its the sentimental value in it for me.:aus:

Yes, I think sentimental factor for me too. When you've spent a lot of time oversees you tend to grab for the home beers. I don't know if VB is really good or bad, it's just home..

Too right!

Unfortunately i don't have any sentimental feeling about Molson Canadian....maybe Moosehead. But then again there are no really tasty Canadian beers...I've missed the entire boutique thing so i can't relate:(

I just think beer is beer. drink Carlton draught at the pub, Boags at home but I dont drink beer at home really, Crown is good but they all pretty much taste the same except for some I'm not keen on like Fat Yak, used to think it was good but it's too strong.

If you drink enough of anything then its just drink yeah? But if you have a small sample, like a glass or two...there is a bevy of flavors available to even the untrained palate.

After two beers or two glasses of wine its just quaffing...not that there's anything wrong with that:D.

Actually i can't quaff beer anymore, it upsets my stomach:( So its the odd one for taste.

I only drink beer twice a month when I meet a couple of mates at the pub.
We drink for say 2 hours then walk home.
I find beer too bloating for general drinking any more often than that.

amen to that Mr.B...we must be getting old...Dagnabit!

I can still recall when i could happily quaff a dozen pots...before dinner, then fit in a mixed grill and half a bottle of red on my own.

Boy they were the days.

Getting old ? I just had to fix a hole in the dripper system in the garden, couldn't stay bent over long enough, had the grab the garden chair and sit down.
Yesterday I went to the supermarket and got a trolley from the trolly bay, stepped backwards and somehow got my foot tangled in the railing that the trollys are placed between and went **** over.
Didn't hurt myself but I had to ask someone how that happened, felt like a complete idiot.

Oh no, that's not good... Lucky you didn't snap an ankle...ouch.

And hangovers...well i can still pound back two to three bottles of red if the company is good and the wife is to bed...but i pay for it:banghead:

Needless to say, i don't get much opportunity to do that anymore:frown:. Having a nice South African Pinotage at the moment though;)

Yep, home in South Africa or England, depends how you look at it.

They own VB, I wonder how long before they shut down Australian brewing.
I saw it when Allan Bond closed down Kalgoorlie brewery, then moved brewing to Canning Vale and sold off the old Swan brewery site.
Now we have Lion Nathen a New Zealand brewer shutting down the Swan brewery.

If we are doing so well, why are all our icons disappearing?
I think we live in a fools paradise, make the most of it.:1zhelp:

With Southwark Premium, you not only had the hangover, you also still had the taste of it in the mouth the following morning.

Poor you Mr Burns but that post had me in stitches :D

One beer that never gives me a hangover is Guinness, again I think it's something to do with vitamin B (I suppose it's not really beer is it, it's stout)

You couldn't be more wrong. So many amazing Canadian beers out there. Unibroe (sp?) is one of my favs

Nah, i just meant i missed the boutique beer thing...no tasty commercial beers.
