Agree with the broad sentiment but I'll say that there definitely are some extremely capable women in the industry.

We need more regardless of gender.

No doubt,and 100% agree but remember the STEM women promotion is definitively anti boy..not a STEM for all campaign..and it worked?
At best we replaced some boys by women but we do not seem to have added these women to an expanding cohort..i am talking aussie ones.
There were quite a few young women in the 80% group..probably the overall figures the uni and ABC will push as a sign of success.

We need to beware of trading quality for quantity however.

Some students are apparently getting into STEM courses without the appropriate Maths qualifications.

Maths is too hard to teach these days apparently and there aren't enough teachers to do it.
