No problem. I was aware I was on your ignore list and if you don't feel like you can handle the discussion feel free to place me on ignore again. It won't stop me from expressing my opinion
Do you genuinely believe that? I mean, is the modern ALP so amazingly good that they have broken new ground which will be studied throughout history?
Really?
Only if we wrap them in the cotton wool as is befitting their endangered species status.
So does that make you a female or a non-assertive male?
I'm also interested to hear from anyone else with the courage to come forward and tell us about how men are vilified in general society.
here is much direct evidence that suggests that secondary education systems in Australia, have been deliberately set up or adapted to allow on average, girls to get better overall assessment grades than boys. This can be seen in the following linked documents:
Violence against a man is often times not taken as seriously as violence against a woman
it is much more difficult for a man to get custody of his children than a woman
Higher incarceration rates and longer sentencing for men than women who commit the same crime.
Lack of legal ramifications for paternity fraud
Boys education is hitting the rocks
...
And plenty more such as suicide rates, services for men etc
And I would agree with every point you list there as being issues that are in need of addressing. Both sexes have legitimate issues that should be genuinely dealt with.
But I still don't see how any of those issues are a threat to being a real man in this country, or as part of a vilification of men in a new effete paradigm.
ok Ill bite:

I don't really want to go om a man rant as I am pro women doing well. But being a father of two boys, I want the best for them as well

Looks like I walked right into that one. Touche. You got that right Ves.
No mate, I'll not ignore you anymore, you have some good thoughts and convictions.
I just couldn't be tossed tonight to go back through your posts and argue with you, an academic or summat else on the public purse.
For the life of me I do not understand lefties posting on a Stock Forum.
Maybe your 2013 resolution should be to seek a genuine and real answer for this potentially perceptive question.
It is not so long ago that a women was supposed to be "barfoot, pregnant and at the kitchen sink"
Could some of you blokes kindly explain the characteristics of "a real man"?
gg? Given that you raised the topic re Mr Abbott?

I care about women in so far as they're the erotic naked kind, beyond that I just don't want to hear about it anymore.
Has a Y chromosome.
Sorry to sound glib but that is my real answer. I don't feel my sense of being a man is dependpant on anythng else, and the characteristics that I admire in male role models are also present in females. I can list those characteristics in that context if you wish.
