Haha!On a serious note there are a few strong points in Australia which will never be taken (kinda like in Asterix how the Gauls held a certain part of Germania from the Romans)
A strong point that comes to mind is Bankstown in Sydney, I pity the invading army that goes in there unprepared, ela re!
Also I feel that since we have already engaged in certain warfare on Cronulla beach, beach landing there by an invading army would be met with brutal resistance and a stubbie or 2!
What a rubbish article.
Rarely in history has an empire just gone in and invaded a country. They fund covert operations to destablise it. Support the dissident uprisings and rebel groups (which they call freedom fighters) to get the population turning against themselves.
There are alot of reservists and ex-soldiers out there, Now I in no way believe that Australia will be invaded,... But should it happen I think the weapons stock pile around Australia would quickly be distributed and groups of willing men recruited.... Current enlisted men would probally take control of groups of 7 to 10 civillians.... forces may be crude but with good leadership and tactal planning may be quite effective
ANZUS Alliance. The NZ bit is on the outer at the moment because they don't allow nuclear ships to dock.Correct me if I am wrong, but hasnt the US already said that if we were invaded, they wouldnt help with any of their military force?
If the USA only cared about oil, they would have just given Iraq investment capital and helped them develop the oil fields to bring the oil to market... that would have been cheaper than the war.
However they did not want such royalties to flow to sadam,... so they invaded.
If they only invaded for profit,... then what are they getting from afganistan
That might just be a posibility, every soldier in the ADF is taught how to be a leader to some extent. Even the low ranks.
Indonesia only has a small deployable force called KOSTRAD which is busy enough during peace time looking after it's own country. The rest are basically militia tied to their districts, or military area commands, and collecting fees off people to drive through their towns, to bolster their inclome. Their Navy and Airforce are a bit of a joke, although their recent purchases off the Russians are pretty good value. No one could attack and secure Indonesia now due to their policy of 'total defence', which incorporates large scale guerilla warefare using the total population. They never want another foreign power to occupy their country. And this is why they are not a threat to us. They are pretty much totally self defence focussed, and trying to hold 1800 islands together as one country. I highly doubt they would be running to our aid anytime soon after East Timor too. Still wounds to heal there. But, you never know the situation. I actually see them as another buffer between us and China, unless they join hands with the Chinese, but unlikely due to the Socialist/Communist thing. Who's to know what might happen in 10-20 years time though, they might just to save their own bacon.the whole of Indonesia (you would think) would be there.
A mate of mine who 'was' in the army said to me China already has flying replica's of the F22 Raptor and Euro Fighter.China will in 10-20 years though. India will be on our team I think. I also think you're underestimating the strength of the US military compared to every other country in the world.

Could be rubbish. I can understand why anyone would try and get the upper hand over the US.
Will we have another cold war?

the backlash against the chinese here would be extreme
