Hi, thanks for replying. yeah I'm taking it slowly as well with both accounts :)

Profile 1
Had one stock since the start of the game & today made a couple more.
Current ranking 12723
Current Portfolio $49,515.22
Cash $19,149.90

Profile 2
I only made my first buys today so no current ranking.
Current Portfolio $49,915.74
Cash $17,283.18

I've played this game for many years & have always ended in profit, usually around $53,000 - $55,000 but have always gone with the Materials Sector in particular Mining, i.e. OSH, STO, CTX which have always done well until now lol

So if anyone has some 'Hot Stocks' please share :)

Thank you & good luck to all...

ASX Stock Market Game

Hello everyone !

I am a high school student about to undertake the ASX sharemarket game and would appreciate any advice/trading strategies/shares to invest in/any other knowledge that you could impart to me.

I'm quite inexperienced with the share market so I don't even really know what questions to ask, but any help or suggestions would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

Given the short time period with something like the ASX Sharemarket game, I'd almost be putting any fundamental analysis to the side and look to use something like momentum as a concept to build my strategy on. So for instance invest in the best performers over the previous month or something similar.

Clearly this is not a perfect strategy, however momentum as an investment concept is a well trodden path with much academic evidence to back it up so as a student it might be useful to learn about also.
