ASX has redeveloped the Sharemarket Game which offers expanded functionality and improved usability. It is using entirely new software and web hosting arrangements. However, in anticipation of richer functionality and user demands the Game requires further technical testing in order to accommodate users with acceptable service levels.
For this reason we have suspended the commencement of the ASX Sharemarket Game. We want to do thorough testing of the entire Game environment to assess performance capacity. We will not make the Game available until we are confident that we can provide to you the service and response times that we require.
Having already registered for the Game we understand that this will be a disappointment but we believe this to be the best course of action in the short term. Your registration for the Game will be retained and we will keep you updated by email concerning when the Game will be available.
We apologise again for the inconvenience caused by these short term problems.

Under the Rules, it actually says that we can register before 12:00am on 27 March, but I can't find the Registration link.

At this stage we anticipate running the Game in the second half of the year and there will only be one Public Game for 2007. We expect to be able to maintain your existing registration so that you do not need to re-register once the Game is ready to recommence. ASX Sharemarket Game: Details about Re-registration and Commencement
Earlier this year you registered to play the ASX Sharemarket Game. ASX is now pleased to advise you of the new Game dates. They are as follows:
Registrations open: 14 August 2007
Registrations close: on or before 4 September 2007
Trading commences: 6 September 2007
Trading ends: 14 November 2007
Because the Game will use the proven existing ASX format rather than the new version announced at the start of 2007, you will need to re-register to play. We apologise for any inconvenience.
However, we would like to give you the opportunity to register before opening the Game to the general public. In coming months you will receive an email advising of when you can register. Please follow the registration steps in that email.
The Game has grown in popularity in recent years and we are only able to accept 24,000 registrations. You are being given priority but you need to register promptly as there is no guarantee of a place if the cap on registrations is reached prior to the official registration close date.
You will have one week to register for the Game before we advise others that registration is open.
ASX appreciates your patience and hopes your participation in the ASX Sharemarket Game is an enjoyable and educational experience.
