ASF Issues, Errors and Problems

@Joe Blow Your forum is being trashed Joe.

@Sean K does anyone care? Is anyone watching this train wreck other than me?

Hi Peter, I've been away from the screens tonight. I checked the recent posts and see what you are referring to. I am in the process of removing all those posts and agree that this style of posting is disruptive and of little to no value. I will address this directly with @noirua to ensure that it does not happen again.

Posting links without any accompanying comment is not something that should be encouraged.

My reason for posting just links was to cover a number of generally ignored companies. In doing so I got carried away and I apologise for this. As to the comment by AKA peter2, it was not my intention to trash the forum but to increase coverage of companies. From this others will read the links and also listen to the podcasts on many of them.

My posts were intended to increase the popularity of ASF and thereby see the forum is positioned where it deserves to be. I'm indeed sorry if others do not share my view.

Links to content on other websites can be very useful, but ultimately ASF is a place for discussion and I think most people would like to hear a few words of your own about the topic at hand or the content that is being linked to.

I've been posting on Forums since about 1997 and presently post from time to time on many. They were set up as we know originally to share points of view through the advance of technology particularly podcasts etc., has widened the field. I must admit to being an information person rather than one who takes too much notice of commentary - at least that means arguments are ignored.

I will add commentary to all the posts I've made in the last 24 hours but hoping no one takes notice of them as I'm principally a high-risk trader and many others do not buy and sell shares many times every day. A good idea for me to note that on my upcoming commentary, now noted below, which I often avoid unless it is a company I've followed closely for many years.

Links to Podcasts are generally more informative than individual's points of view including guessology that is often very misleading. They should do their research.

There will be a change to the way I post to conform to ASF. I can't comment on Peter2 or Sean K's posts as I only read the information and ignore the commentary - Good Luck to you all noirua

I will add the commentary gradually to the links to avoid a build-up of posts. Hopefully, many more posts will be made perhaps 20 times so it won't matter soon.

From this I take it that you like to talk but not listen. Each to their own, but if we all did that this place would be a mess of comments with no flow because everyone ignores the other persons point of view and information.

thanks you @pete and @Sean K for challenging the serial linkster. The giveaway was "I post on many forums" which isn't even vegemite ... spread thin but with no nutritional content.

Thank you @noirua for bringing to life unvisited stocks. There is at least some benefit in that, but I've never clicked on any links . At least your posts are generally stock specific, unlike many of the brainfarts and thread drifts/ hijackss some others have.

Unlike some, I only visit ASF to read content and post away to my heart's content. While some of my entries may seem lightweight, the intention has been to generate or continue a narrative . I have no interest in other fora.

We all have different styles, Enjoy the day, folks.

Your posts and those of Sean K and peter2 are wonderful with or without links. As I've posted on ADVFN for 24 years, and Stockhouse, Hotcopper and Motley Fool in Australia, Canada, the UK and America even longer, I have learnt to survive the test of time. May your gods go with you.:wheniwasaboy:

Must be the ASIO lag on monitoring Mr @wayneL conspiracy posts😉
This would not surprise me.

True story: Not long after 911 I sent a big chunk of Amibroker code from one computer to the other via email because they were not networked. Just the code, no message because obviously not needed.

It took three days to arrive. Hmmm

I have started using a new browser called Opera.

When I post to a thread on ASF it posts twice. I'd blame the browser first but just thought I'd notify @Joe Blow in case there is a glitch at t'other end.

Having to view a post of mine must be agony, twice would be unbearable.

Hi GG, which thread did you start? I can't see any threads you started recently.

the GOOD news is , it isn't your browser , i use a completely different browser and having the same issue today ( and late last night )

however i found a few ways to get around the problem , but not straight away

if just posting on a thread and you get a double just delete and give 'duplicated post as a reason ( and it disappears )
