Australian Muslim cleric meets Hamas leader
The Mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohammed, is leading a delegation of Australian Muslim scholars to Gaza.
Local television has shown pictures of Dr Mohammed meeting with Hamas's political leader, Gaza's prime minister Ismail Haniyeh, on December 26.
"We came here in order to learn from Gaza... to learn steadfastness, sacrifice, and the defence of one's rights from them," Dr Mohammed said in remarks translated by Memri TV.
The military wing of Hamas is listed as a proscribed terrorist organisation by the Australian Government.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it is up to the individuals in the delegation to make sure they do not breach Australian laws.

A French satirical magazine, whose offices were fire-bombed after it published cartoons on the Prophet Muhammad last September, has published a 64-page special issue with cartoons on the life of Islam's founder.
The editor of Charlie Hebdo weekly insisted that the publication titled "The Life of Muhammad", which was published on Wednesday, was a properly researched and educational work prepared by a Franco-Tunisian sociologist.

Aaliyah Boyer was watching midnight fireworks outside a home in Elkton, Maryland, south of Philadelphia, when she was struck in the head by a falling bullet.
Adults initially believed Aaliyah had passed out and hit her head, but the bullet wound was discovered when she arrived at hospital.
She was taken off life support on Thursday morning and her organs have been donated to other children.
While her family were at hospital with her, a burglar broke into their Pennsylvania home and stole their Christmas presents.
They also believe strangers are trying to gather money for a fake fund for the girl over Facebook.

Belgium has real problems, muslims make up a huge proportion of Brussels population. There is even talk of splitting Belgium between France and Holland.
